Can anyone who has had surgery with Dr. Kao please answer this question?

Does he have more before and after photos of his patients when you go to him than what he has on his site? If so, did they look as good as the photos on his website?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I've done my nose in Korea. Honestly, I don't like it. I got silicone for bridge and ear cartilage for tip. The problem with silicone, it looks shiny even without make up. It looks like unnatural (for me.) In some case, u can get perfect nose in photo but sometimes it looks fake. My tip got smaller on one side. Maybe they got absorbed one sided? But aniway I'm done with this and I need revision soon!

I'm going to have cartilage implant. I don't consider any plastics (silicone, goretex) anymore. But I don't like the idea of take my own rib. I would use a donor one.

How about it everyone? Anyone tried before? Anyone think of getting donor rib? What's ur opinion guys?

My friend just did hers a few days ago and she is talking of taking it out as soon as possible because it was too high for her liking. She said she looks like a stranger and her nose is tight and shiny.
Hi terrie, just wonder what ur friend did? that must be with implant right not the cartilage one?
Hey crzythnkr,
Can you tell me which clinic and which doctor you did your rhino with? I'm going to Korea next week to get my nose and eyes done, and right now I'm thinking Dream, Banobagi, VIP, and Oz as potential choices. They all have different procedures recommended for my nose. What did you do and how much did it cost exactly? Thanks!

Anyone going to Dr kao to remove implant (done by another doctor)? A friend of mine is looking for company because I may not be able to go.

anyone who has surgeries in the past with dr kao? wud appreciate if u can u share ur past experience.. thanks !
thanks for the info! strangely when i emailed them, they pushed me for a suite C for NT3600.... i will contact them again.

if you need any info abt surgery, feel free to PM me, i had my nose done with Dr Kao in 08 but contemplating a revision for my nose tip. (i will check the next few days in my PM box as I do not get notifications that i get PMs & have missed out on pples' PMs prevously).

to bella10 - infact many of the patients have not posted their pics on Dr Kao's website. However he did show pics of recent patients when i was there (at the clinic), results were good, thus it strengthened my confidence in his skills. what you see on his website is just a tiny tip of the iceberg!

Aneles,

Thank you soooo much for answering. Does he show frontal pics too or only profile pics? I want to see how well he sculpts and creates the tip which is very important from the front.

What don't you like about your tip? Why do you want it revised? Thanks for your time and help.

Aneles,

I think I know its because its suite C.. the 2000 NTD is for suite A which is smaller that the other suites...

Thank you aneles.. I will pm you and hope to be able to ask you related to the rhinoplasty..

Im planning to do just a nose revision with alarplastic and tipplasty using the ear cartielage.. I also desire to maintain asian nose look.. I really do not wish to have drastic change after my surgery june... because dont want ppl to ask me stuff ..

I will update you all again after my surgery with him.. but that would be in june..

Hi All,

I have been a silent reader of this and other forums pertaining cosmetic surgery for over a year now. I would like to thank you so much for those forerunners who have have unselfishly shared their experiences, their apprehensions, their fears, sufferings and their triumphs. It is through their baring of their hearts that have given me the courage to take the final step towards probably the most difficult decision I have ever made.

I have scheduled myself for two ops - Blepharoplasty followed by Rhinoplasty to be done in Taipei. Blepharoplasty will be by Dr Su (17/5 – consult, 18/5 – ops) and Rhinoplasty (rib cartilage) will be by Dr Kao (19/5 –consult, 20/5 – ops).

I will be staying at Kangning Service Apartment from 15/5 – 28/5 and will be travelling alone. I hope my smatters of Mandarin will somehow see me through this journey- fingers crossed that I will not get too lost.

Present state of mind, you might ask? Excitement peppered with fears and apprehensions and tonnes of question marks. Hopeful nevertheless.

Wish me luck!

Ps: I am a guy btw and if anybody wanna meet to share their war stories while there…gimme a shout ya?

yes he did show me pics of patients pics of post-op 6mths to 1 yr (he said he like to follow-up with patients recovery. pics i saw were taiwanese girls). infact the reason why i decided on Dr kao was because i liked the tipwork he does.

Unfortunately in my case, my tip is still quite bulbous looking. Judging from my photos, Dr kao suspects that my nose skin has thickened & there are scar tissues underneath (prob bcos he shave the hump i had originally & that caused quite abit of trauma swelling) that caused the tip to look bigger than it shld be.

i am still on the fence abt revision. Though Dr kao appears to be very optimistic abt improving my current tip (he said it will be a simple procedure under LA & he will remove the scar tissues left inside & if necessary, use my ear cartilage to improve tip), but I fear going thru this whole ordeal again. Scar tissues were not the doc's fault, but my body's recovery reaction. So i wonder what if after revision, i still develop scar tissues again??

was surfing through this forum to see if there is still any xxxxx thread with kalo! kind of like leave me scars in life.. sigh..

anyway, im a patient of Dr.Kao, i just saw the posting regarding donor's rib cartilage! How great would it be that if i can use a donor's rib instead of mine, as i have the scar on my rib too.. however in another aspect, i would not be keen on the idea to use a deceased person's rib bone on my nose.. :o

Well anyway, Dr Kao did a good job for my nose, except that i dont really like the height of my nose, im thinking to reduce the height of it as i want a more asian nose too. I like the nose tip done by dr kao though. Reason why i want my bridge to lower abit as i noticed a high nose will makes a person looks more mature and usually people will suspect if you have a nose job done, most asians dont have high nose. :(

And also, can anyone share how they deal with their friends who might suspect that you have a nose job done? As the nose looks different from last time..?
Please dont ask me for pictures of my nose, you can find it in Dr. kao's website though.

Anyway, Dr Kao,too suggest me to use LA and he could help me to scrape the height of the bone, kind of like what the other forumer has mentioned, need to slice open the nose in order to do it. Im afraid to do surgeries again, scare of the pain. :(

Sorry for the long post...
hi appletree, gd to see your post! :)

i am also reluctant to share with others that i have done my nose. i normally distract them with the eye job so that they are convinced its the eyes tt make me look different. not sure why i can openly reveal tt i hve done my eyes but i stop abt my nose, lol...

but i have many pple tt comment i look very different, there are even some tt do not recognise me. just recently i was very hurt where i found out a friend had gossiped with another friend about my face & the PS done on my face (speculations). & also commented that it was not nice. it was devastating when i heard it but there is nothing much i can do.

I recall I saw your post-op nose before - the height looked good, didnt look ridiculously high leh. by now, the height should have gone down even more, no?

If you like your results, then ignore the sour grapes but if you don't like the results, you can always have a revision. No matter what, there will always be people gossiping or critcising. Like my friend who did her nose - one family member finds it ok but her sister said it doesn't suit her...

post op care dr kao

Post by terrie35 » Tue, 11 May 2010 2:58 pm

Does Dr Kao give good service after op? It is very important to me to get a doc who cares after the op so you can ask questions in case of anything....

Hi people, how long does Dr Kao reply his email?

Another question, I'm currently 17 and if I want to go for surgery there, is it a MUST for me to go with my parents or will it do if my sister or any 21 above age years go with me?

TIA!
Perseverance and determination is the way to success. I need them~~~~
