Well this is what i got from dr. Kao about donor rib. He said donor rib is about the same result with rib from your body. It depends with the doctor skill also and everything will be alright. Anyway, donor rib would be more expensive around (140000-160000 NTD). Compare to rib from body which is around 120000 NTD.

He started a few months ago for donor rib and not so many cases (but at least there are some right?)

He said that if I am young then he would prefer me to have rib from my own body. (I think coz the old ones would be riskier to have rib surgery) but anyway, still i choose donor than rib surgery. I feel that rib surgery is a bit too much for having nose job.
and with donor i can make with LA not GA (thx i'm afraid with GA)

And if I could tell you from the first, I would say don't take implant coz for most cases it looks fake and years by years it looks bad too. I've been almost 2 years and found the difference with first time and now. And for tip, with ear cartilage sumtimes it is absorbed ( like mine)

I don't know. Doubt 50% Sure 50% to do it. lol

How long after your first rhino must you wait to change to rib ?
Well It's been 2 years and I feel like I have to change my nose. Lol.
But that depends with the person, because there's a person who keeps the condition of the nose job but I'm not like that. I sneeze. I hit my nose (accidentally) and such stuffs. So if u don't sneeze, don't touch it too often should be longer than 2 years. :D

Oh may be u asked when can I do the next nose job after previous one? Well you have to wait for 6 months after a nose job then you can do another surgery. that's the doc said.

i think the main advantage of using donor bone is won't have the scar, abt 1-2inch i suppose.

can i know what material was your first implant? even if vigourous rubbing/sneezing should not be able to move the implant...

somehow i got the idea that more revisions doesn't mean good, it could hurt the bone and skin, increasing chances of bridge collapse or tip splitting.

----

Bliss. dr.hsu didn't comment about removing the tip only? I think it might be like a I-silicone implant. btw, ur tip crooked or something?

----

i saw a survey that girls who did PS are about x4 more likely to commit suicide than those who did not. not sure abt the age range but that is up to you all to prove wrong. no point dying or ranting after all the efforts spent beautifying urself.

Post by terrie35 » Fri, 16 Apr 2010 2:07 pm

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to recover from a nose job, when do you get to see the final result? And how to take care of the nose, things to do, things not to do? Thanks !!

Unfortunately having a nose job does make a person look better in front view and profile. Seen so many girls with nose jobs done, they are so pretty after the nose jobs.

you've beeen reallly good then! Yes, ppl need to wait AT LEAST 1 yr before they consider revision.
You waited 2 yrs? And u say ear cartilage absorb too much? How much would u say.... 50%??? Well i used rib and i would say mine will absorb about 20%

BUT i really say u should listen to the doctor and use your own rib. There is nothing to fear, its not bad, i know it sounds like hardcore surgery but its nothing really, its not even painful unless you watch something super funnny and start laughing then it might feel like pressure there, but its not pain.. its more of tight cramps?

U wanna buy my rib for 8,000US??????? really healthy, strong and pretty. OR, u can pay 7,000 US and then give me ur ear cartilage.. lol.. omg see how crazy it sounds? u should just use ur own. LA is more scary then GA, GA you will sleep. LA u will be awake and ppl said its more painful.

i believe it was around 3,200-3,500USD

Yes u have to pay for revision, however if you go to the same doctor
it wont be the same price as your original price its a big discount
most likely you only need to pay for staying at hospital, tests, nurses, fluids and fees. Compared to if you go to a different doctor normally revision is more expensive then 1st timers rhino.

Post by terrie35 » Sat, 17 Apr 2010 7:46 pm

Maybe this is a silly question, but is dr kao's clinic modern and clean?

Is he good in aftercare?

Do you really have to reoperate every two years? Like the nose worsens every two years and you have to go under the knife again? If that's the case, I'll be forever paying for my nose job! lol

anyone answer me please?

Might sound like stupid reasoning (cuz I have no scientifical proof of it), but I think that the "oilier face" issue could be due to:
1) your nose skin being stretched and thus its normal functions being disturbed
2) permanent unhapiness about the result, causing psychological stress which ultimately results into a higher level of sebum production

Does that sound plausible?

I thought someone here said her mother had implant for years? You replace implant only if it is crooked or infected or you are unhappy with it, right?? That is what doc said.

its not, i think u misunderstood
Im doing revision (i used rib cart.) cuz i want to correct something in my nose so im going the second time. Some ppl who use plastic materials like silicone go and "check up" every 10 years just like breast implants (thats if they choose too) or they can go 4 yrs or whenever depending if the foreign object has protruded from there nose (skin thinning, body rejecting it) etc. If u use plastic material u may check up, but its not every 2 years unless u get infection.

Hi, newbie here!

That is what I heard too = you don't do anything unless there is a problem or you don't like it. Like for boobs, some doctors say you have to change them every 10 years but when I went to see one, he told me that no need if there is nothing wrong.

For my nose job, I either do my nose or have to have epi. I have noticeable epi but the doc says if I do nose, no need to do epi, so I did my nose which now makes my eyes deep-set.
