You mean you are going to take out the tiplasty done? So it will be open surgery again?
yes im gonna remove the tip part (there is two peices in the nose) i will leave the bridge i guess, im basically trying to make it look more like my old self as much as possible of course i cant go back the way it was but if i can a lil i think it will be good enough, i hope the brdige will shrink tho i dont wanna waste losing my rib right? This scar IS NOT hidden with bra on.. so no matter what a doctor tells you plz be aware and just tell yourself it probably wont, i confirm this with two other girls by the way.

Dr hsu said i can do it under local, and he will open only the middle part of my nose, and said recover time is fast. But im SCARED to go under local!!!!! omg what if i feel pain!! will i be awake? ive never done anything local before,

whats the different between local and general??? i heard for eye surgery they only put a needle in ur eye not in your arm.. so are they only gonna put a needle in my nose and i dont need to stick needles in my hand anymore? If so, thats good news, cuz the IV drip was insanely painful and each time they gave me anti biotics its felt like hell soo painful. I rank it 8/10 pain.

Ya, I was told by a doc I consulted that to remove silicon from nose, he just had to give a local injection on the nose and pull out the thing from inside the nose. So I presume it will be the same for your tip.

Your tip is bone? Wah, maybe that is why it is so but for tip with cartilage, I doubt it is so easy to remove.

Local ? I suppose it is like at the dentist, you are conscious I think.

Hi blissful,

local means they'll put you under sedation, they inject your veins on the hands & later at the nose, you won't feel pain, probably enter into light sleep.

unlike doing eyes, u're awake, conscious of what's going on etc.
so don't worry too much, i'm scared of the GA though, afraid can't wake up!

The scar is a bummer too.

General - you fall asleep and don't feel anything but needs time to recover....some people experience vomitting afterwards

I'll feel nauseous & vomit after LA too. So, i'll usually request the doc for anti vomit pill to take right after the surgery, it helps.

tiplasty

For those who use septal cartilage for the tip, has anyone has it taken out? It is taken out from inside the nose?

ermmmm from what i know when Dr Hsu cut my rib there is two peices... there is a long part (rib bone for the bridge) and then a small cartilage part im guessing so he uses the small peice for the tip since its soft and more flexible.. its not the bridge thats bugging me... its the tip...

Do you guys think its possible to leave the bridge and removing only the tip? Or would that look funny? Because im suspicious of that is the reason my nose looks bird-like. well he was only teling me he can put me under local if i wanna adjust the tip peice. But hearing that local i need to have inject into my hand im scared all over.... needles in my hand hurt sooo badly i wonder why..... i wish they can put numbing cream on my hand

Maybe you can ask the doc if he can give you the local on your nose instead.

So if he gives you local, then you can give him your opinion when he is adjusting the tip ?

Taking out the tip means that it won't be as high as what you have now....so do you like it? Or you can ask the doc not to take out the tip but to re-adjust the tip so it is not so bird-like. But to re-adjust, won't it require open surgery?

I've done my nose in Korea. Honestly, I don't like it. I got silicone for bridge and ear cartilage for tip. The problem with silicone, it looks shiny even without make up. It looks like unnatural (for me.) In some case, u can get perfect nose in photo but sometimes it looks fake. My tip got smaller on one side. Maybe they got absorbed one sided? But aniway I'm done with this and I need revision soon!

I'm going to have cartilage implant. I don't consider any plastics (silicone, goretex) anymore. But I don't like the idea of take my own rib. I would use a donor one.

How about it everyone? Anyone tried before? Anyone think of getting donor rib? What's ur opinion guys?

My friend just did hers a few days ago and she is talking of taking it out as soon as possible because it was too high for her liking. She said she looks like a stranger and her nose is tight and shiny.
Hi terrie, just wonder what ur friend did? that must be with implant right not the cartilage one?

Hi all.. To some people who read my post and replied, now i'm going to reply you guys :D

Well this is what i got from dr. Kao about donor rib. He said donor rib is about the same result with rib from your body. It depends with the doctor skill also and everything will be alright. Anyway, donor rib would be more expensive around (140000-160000 NTD). Compare to rib from body which is around 120000 NTD.

He started a few months ago for donor rib and not so many cases (but at least there are some right?)

He said that if I am young then he would prefer me to have rib from my own body. (I think coz the old ones would be riskier to have rib surgery) but anyway, still i choose donor than rib surgery. I feel that rib surgery is a bit too much for having nose job.
and with donor i can make with LA not GA (thx i'm afraid with GA)

And if I could tell you from the first, I would say don't take implant coz for most cases it looks fake and years by years it looks bad too. I've been almost 2 years and found the difference with first time and now. And for tip, with ear cartilage sumtimes it is absorbed ( like mine)

I don't know. Doubt 50% Sure 50% to do it. lol

Hey Bliss,

How about getting him to do an image of what you'll look like without the tip cartilage? Then you'll get a better idea...

Open surgery for rhinoplasty means cutting the middle part between the nostrils (the columna)

My friend did with implant but the reason she didn't like it is because she looks eurasian with her nose, she wants to look like a chinese and she regrets because she didn't have to do it but was too greedy.
