Epicanthic revision

Post by plasticgirl » Fri, 05 Feb 2010 10:28 pm

Hi,

I think everyone here is very happy with their epi. But I'm not. I had magic epi done and even though it's less than 1mm, I still think it's too much. Has anyone successfully done an epi revision?

Thanks,
PG

Hi PG who did you get your magic epi done with? I did epi few years back but honestly I don't find it made much difference on my face so I can't comment much. I don't know how too much epi will look like, I'd rather have some results...

hi takuda i checked with dr kao he's not very keen with using silicone.. so I'm not sure. Does Dr Chuang use silicone? The last time I rang his nurse told me they're using mala.. don't know what's that.

is it true epi hurts more then rhinoplasty?

Also is there anyone on here who has done revision when there first surgery was using Rib Cartilage?

Cuz i wanna know can doctors actually remove the rib and reshape it? Cuz i think once you remove it it will became warp if you try to fiddle with it right?

Hi blissful,

Epi is not painful, just a nip of a little skin compared to full incisional double eyelid.

I read in one of those doctor's Q&A, i think it's possible to remove & reshape the rib again but the ear cartilage i'm not sure.

I had a friend his nose was done by Dr hsu using rib twice but the result is not good. First time is using rib, 2nd time is use ear cartilage to add onto his tip, should be close incision. Later on he decided to go dr kao for rib revision. I think he took out the rib, reshape it and add a layer of ear cartilage on the rib just between our eyes and also on his tip.

And did your friend like what Dr Kao did for him/her? I am going revision with Dr Kao as well. Although the previous time was also done by Dr Kao himself.

What is it about your nose now that you don't like? You're probably one of the few dr kao cases not happy with his original work, so it's interesting to know.

I wish it's higher.. my previous implant (silicone) is more 3d although a little crooked and I look more caucasian. Current nose with Dr Kao is slightly lower (although longer), more natural, but not high enough like I wanted. Overall I'm happy with it except I want it even higher.

Hi cupcakez,

I'm curious if the bridge height went down alot after swelling / absorption? And also how long it took... I dunno if I'm at the stage at one month and a few days, where I can assess all of this.

May I ask how long since your last op with Dr. Kao and also at one month postop did you like the height of your nose??

My tip still feels woody btw, so I don't know how long it takes to become soft again.

And I'm getting alot of comments that I don't look really chinese. And it feels even more so when I take pictures.

Hi all,

Day 19 post surgery - My nose seems to be healing pretty well, it's looking quite natural now. It looks pretty in real life, BUT from the front my nose still looks bulbous in pictures! Even the alars still look fleshy...I really hope it's due to the swelling

That being said, I'm also a little worried because I have a slightly raised lump near the stitches on my left alar ridge. It's hard to the touch, and is quite itchy. The color is the same as the skin surrounding it, so it's not really obvious, but I'm really scared it might be a keloid :???: I'm not a keloid-prone person, but never say never right? I've been applying Heparinoid ointment for the past few days now, so hopefully the lump will subside over time...

i'm a girl btw.

and does anybody know of any shopping centres around here where I can get the St. Clare's blackhead remover thing?

Thanks!

Hi MissFoxxy, I'm not sure since I've actually not heard where its sold, but there's a pretty big SaSa shop at Sogo area and they sell alot of stuff. I walked around there to shop and stumbled on it.

I'm not very sure how to describe but its across the road, there's alot of tiny shops along there with some bigger tenants watsons, giordano etc.

Rhino Dillemma

Post by swetie_pie » Thu, 11 Feb 2010 10:07 am

Guys, I've been silent reader. Gosh, a lot of information that makes me even more confused. But aniway, thanks for sharing your knowledge here. Well I want to discuss something with you guys about my rhino.

I've done rhino in Korea. And I don't think I like it. I don't know why but I've realized that Korean Rhino has its own style. It seems like koreans love high nose with high tip. I can't describe the shape but I know they have typical same standard with western people. And it's not natural at all. Maybe they look good in Korean actors or actresses but not in chinese girl like me.

In my opinion, a good nose should be look natural and curvy, a very little hump in the middle of the bridge would be cute too, the top of the bridge should be smaller and getting wider as it goes down. The raised bridge should start from the area between the corner of your eyes (NOT UPPER than that) but now I just have a high straight stick putted inside my nose. It's so bad. =(

Also, I use silicone. To the point, I don't have any problems with infections or something, no extrusion also. But, there are some problems that you have to know when you use silicone:
- there are shades around it, so you don't even need shading around your nose when you make up. And the shades is not that good, not like when do make up.
- they are shiny! gosh, I notice that when I take pictures with camera. I even know how long the silicone in my nose =(.. And it's obviously strange since naturals won't do!
- there is a problem when I use eyeglasses. My skin easily getting red around the glasses sitting, it leaves some marks around and the silicone "bone" obviously shown. when I had my natural nose, It didn't leave any marks at all. I don't know why but I think that's because the sillicone, or the stretched skin? I will ask the doctor.

The thing is if you can avoid silicone, then avoid it. Lately I even can tell between the people who do nose job simply because the silicone. I know my friends feel strange about my nose, but they don' say or ask me honestly. My mom also says it's not that good.

Then I wonder do taiwanese doctors understand "natural nose? I'm afraid that they will have same standard with korean docs and don't understand what the patients want. If that's so, it's just useless for me to do revision there. From my perspective after read these replies, I think dr Kao can do? but I don't know either.

I want to ask your opinions about should i change it with other implant or natural one, and do you find your doctors really understand what you really want and especially good in natural nose?

I really need your help for this. I can't think it alone. I've thought it months by months and I still have no answer what should I do.
