blueberrian wrote:Hi, I am thinking of a revision rhinoplasty with rib cartilage/donated rib. There seems to be a lot of good comments on Dr. Jung Dong-Hak from Korea and Dr. Hsu from Taiwan.

Anyone has done a revision rhinoplasty (esp. with rib cartilage/donated rib) with either Dr. Jung or Dr. Hsu? Was it good? How much did they charge? Thanks for sharing.

hi guys just to make something clear DR JONG (Taiwan) DR JUNG is KOREA.

Also... this is a TAIWAN forum..... but i actually know the price of Dr Jung (korea) he charges MINIMUM of $6000USD which is insanely expensive but his work was very veryyyyyy nice.

Dr Hsu charges 100,000 - 110,000 NTD which is a little more then half of what Dr Jung charges.

Hi all, I'm back alr in SG. I just thought I'd leave a number here for those who require pickup from the airport or transport back to airport.

Cos, the ones provided by the hotel and the one I eventually at first for pickup for airport was pretty ex, about 1100-1500.

I found this driver who provides pickup at 900 bucks and he's damn nice like he carries all my bags and gets trolley for me, unlike the one I paid 1200 too (the only diff with paying more you get to ride in a van thingy or mercedes), this guy drives a regular cab which I think is all the same anyways.

His contact is here, you have to call him at LEAST ONE day, before you arrive:

K, since alot of ppl keep asking,

I'll post before and afters - had to spend some time cutting away my face from the pic. This is a revision, and I had my first one done many years in bkk for a nose bump it looked worse gradually due to bad rasping.

I had practically a little bridge (exacerbated by the nose twisted to one side), and odd shape droopy tip, Dr. Kao said I had an untreated deviated septum (thai doc didn't fix it) - giving my nose a twisted look from the front, thats why my nose looks worse than normal and that made his job a little harder than usual.

The first thing I felt after surgery, is that I could breathe normally and I never could.

Maybe pictures tell a thousand words. I'm satisfied so far, I hope my bridge goes down a little as well as tip "swell" since I'm not very used to the huge change.

Don't hate and freak cos pictures cept the last one are taken w/o makeup, I'm totally greasy and my skin looks nasty =X

jamie82, thanks for sharing with us the pics. i gotta say, it's VERY nice. you are swelling so i guess it will go down further..but i personally think the bridge is not that freak-ish looking. Your side view looks very korean! congrats!! :D

Hi blueberrian,

We're considering donated rib too, can't seem to find much info regarding the pros & cons of donated rib from the internet. Anyone recall who used donated rib & has some info on it, pls share. Thanks.

We fear that the donated rib he used may be uncompatible & develop complications in the future like silicon (???), despite having to pay more.

Dr Kao haven't reply my email since last sun, so if i sent him another set of questions regarding donated rib, it'll take even longer. lol.

I think dr.kao is a really great doctor who genuinely cares about his patients..
Just so happened to catch a flu few days back.. probably due to the sudden weather change. from 10degrees in taipei to 30 odd degrees in sunny singapore.

Yesterday as I was cleansing my nose, to my horror, i discovered a lump of flesh in my right nostrils! Feeling really horrified, i immediately emailed dr.kao for fear that i might have an infection.. and after several email exchanges and reassuring me that its not an infection, i felt relieved.

I'll be seeing a doctor tmr to remove my ear stitches and my remaining nose stitches also for my flu+sorethroat and of course that lump of flesh.. dr.kao told me it may be due to the swelling.. im not sure if thats it but the lump of flesh is located right below my right nostril(which is the more swollen nostril)'s swollen area so he may be right.

either way im happy to have such a caring doctor who truly cares!! :D

Hi everyone ! You know what ?! today I send also an email to dr Hsu (even if I have a preference for dr Kao whom I waiting for a reply) and he replied me less than 4 hours !!!

Unfortunately, it wasn't very detailed lol. He reply in the big line ( no answer about payment method but doesn't matter for the moment) and suggest me Rib cartilage rhinoplasty.

Even if it's a pitty that he didn't gave me in this email more detail and concern, at least I had a reply ^^' and I'm very thankfull for his so damn fast reply =D

Donated rib didn't even cross my mind so I didn't ask dr. kao, I think its safer if the person is genetically compatible with you like transplants?

Btw, I just emailed him about 1130pm, and he replied me at 1230am.

Oh ? you've just emailed dr Kao and he already replied to you ? well I'm jealous lool. Hope that he doesn't forget me ^^' but perhpas he has a lot of things sill undone. What do you suggest to me ? Resend him another mail ? I don't want to bother him or being rude as he must be busy or tired or what else you want. ( Yeah I really admire and respect him for what he've done and from what I've read =3)
