I think this has been asked alot of times on this forum, maybe on the other 300+ post thread, and also answered on Dr. Kao's site.bella10 wrote:Jamie82,
Hi, I am new here and seeking a rhinoplasty revision with Dr. Kao in the latter part of this year. I wanted to ask one important question that I have not seen answered in all the posts that I have read. I wanted to know where exactly is the scar for the rib removal, the thickness and the length of the scar as well? I would really appreciate this info and your help regarding this.

Its a tiny distance below the right boob line (I realise I'm looking to see where exactly again), away from the heart. Its probably about 2-3cm max and a thin line. Thickness I don't know yet if I'll get a keloid / hypertrophic scar - I haven't taken out the dressing yet. It seems that most bras should cover it up, I'm more doubtful about really tiny bikini tops - hope this gives a rough idea.

Dr hsu rhinoplasty
Hi guys i dont wanna write FULL testmonial since still a lil depress right now.
Im gonna rep[eat some things said on the forum and SOME THINGS THAT HAVE NOT been said on the forum that UPSET ME and i think i should warn u.
- DO NOT expect rhinoplasty alone/ eyes alone to make u good looking
- Someone stated on here "my nose as a separate thing is quite nice but on my face.. doesnt suit it or maybe im not use to it yet (this i 100% agree) my nose looks damn awkward that it make me depress and i really dont think i can get use to it
- SURGERY IS NOT A JOKE, i can totally EASILY see how complications can arrive and I CAN TELL U NOW, most ppl who do surgery 1st time end up going through MORE SURGERIES!
Surgery in Taiwan is different from Korea. In Taiwan (AND IM SHOCK NO ONE SAID THIS YET) u have to go through a series of health examinations.
First off, i would like to say Dr Hsu is a KIND, charming, nice, bubbley HAPPY AND HONEST DOCTOR, he makes u feel happy and comfortable AND THATS WHAT U NEED WHEN U ARE GOING TO BE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY!
I met Dr Jong in taipei going to get my eyes done... and it was eerie from the start.. he was quite rude to his assistant which was a complete turn off for me, u pay 100$ NTD for consultation and i went inside his office.
He kept bugging me to sit up straight and said "Look this way ok this way? what r u doing forward!" and damn annoying i wanted to punch him. He uses a thin needle tool to show u wear the double eyelid line will be and he accidently jabbed it into my eye!!! So i was like screw it, im not doing double eyelid with u! I kind wish i went to Dr Chuang instead.
Anyways i ended up not messing with my eyes (thank god)
Then i went to kaoshiung and saw dr Hsu, his clinic is full of patients different ages (he is a ENT specialist) i was LAST to see him at 9:30pm
and its so funny that i was the first patient to see Dr Jong in the morning and he was in a bitch mode.. and i was LAST to see Dr Hsu after a long day of work, and he was still enthuastic and cheery!
-LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR! I can tell u now Dr Hsu gets better and better so i think those of u going to him later are damn lucky. He suggest me a curve (like anime nose) for my side profile.. yet i backed out of it last minute and told him "no i just want it straight down" I REGRETTED IT SO MUCH
Anyways YOU NEED A MANDARIN SPEAKER WITH U, DONT ASK ME WHY JUST DO IT, or else your gonna buy the first plane ticket back to your country.
- His client and hospital are in different areas, the first thing i did was health checkup (which i mention korea doesnt really care about this stuff, but i think its crucial)
- They first check your height and weight (probably too see how much GA they shouldput in your body
- They then give u a X-ray exam
- Then then give you a heart rate/beat exam (you need to show your boobies for this one, they stick some suction things on this and check the rate of your heart i think)
- and blood pressure test (simple, take that thingy and wrapp around your arm and it squeeze your arm)
- Then blood test (FREAKIN FREAKED ME OUT, they take a sample of your blood!!!!!!!!!!!! dont look at it!!!!!!!)
Then the IV drop scared me, BTW i thought IV drip goes into the otherside of your elbow BUT IT DOESNT, they directly stick it into the top of your hand! HUrt like a bitch (sorry for my language, i think i used the F-word plenty during my taiwan stay) and then guess what happen? The retarded nurse goes "Sorry we have to do it again" apparently she couldnt directly stab my vein in the correct spot, so she tabb my arm and tried again in a different spot (for me IV drip damn hurt)
I wanna tell u that i dont like the nurses there.. they even gave my friend a dirty look. Mind you, there hospital is quite busy and they DID offer me if i wanted a on-call english speaker nurse but i need to pay more. ( i wanna say this to be fair, but i really think if u choose to be a nurse u shouldnt be gentle, patient and kind REGAURDLESS if money is involved or not) there were times i didnt feel i was treated nicely, The nurses asked "what are u doing?" why arent u icing your nose.. why are u icing your forehead? you got a nose job....
so i actually tried to ice my nose WITH my cast on... my doctor was shocked to hear that! He said DONT TOUCH THE NOSE!!!!!!!! Ice your cheeks and forehead and i said "Thats what i did... but your nurse told me to put it on my nose..." he then corrected the nurse which i think pissed her off even more. That night i woke up in the middle of the night SWEATING and having sortness of breathe, i couldnt find my buzzer (to call the nurse) so i kept saying "Help.. helpp.. and banging on the desk and saying Dui Bu Chi..( excuse me? my mandarin sucks) my neighbors beside me were kind enough to see me.. and went to get the nurse, 20 mins later the nurse finally walks in.. and it took me another 15 mins to tell her i needed to go bathroom.. this part i HONESTLY think she was faking to understand me!! Why? CUZ I SAID BATHROOM/ Wash ROOM/PEE PEE! Anything to make her understand NOT JUST THAT I DIRECTLY POINTED TO THE BATHROOM DOOR TOO! I tried to show her that i cant go to the bathroom unless she unhook my IV drip which is connected to your hand veins and the wall.. she finally understood, after a good pee pee she came back with Anti-biotics (which felt like saved my life cuz i stop getting sweaty and weird) There is two ways to inject anti biotics, one,.. she can open the cap and directly squirt it into your arm which takes 1 minute -2mins (faster way) or she can spill the antibiotics into your IV drip sack and let it hang and slowly go into your body (which is half an hour i believe) she open my cap and press it into my arm freak HURT omg hurt so damn bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dr Hsu came in again, everytime i see him i feel really happy, cuz he really does whatever it takes to make u happy, (if u meet him you will see)
He ask me how i was doing and i told him the anti-bitoic shot in my arm was damn painful. So he told the nurse just to put it in my IV drip next time instead of directly pushing it into my arm. The nurse DID do that.. but guess what she did? She rolled up my IV drop cord itno a knot and then quickly released it which made the anti-biotic shoot up my hand into my arm. I ask her why she did that and she said its cuz if u r using the iv drip she needs to make sure its going into my hand and she told me "if it hurts.. i need to take the needle out and do it again" at this piont i couldnt help but feel sorry for myself.. i started crying and telling her "no no it doesnt hurt... just leave it" im not about to do it for the 3rd time. She didnt look sorry for me at all.. and just left. PLEASE GET YOURSELF AND CARE-TAKER.. these nurses only care about money, (i heard korean nurses are much nicer)
Im gonna back up a bit and tell u that, ppl have a misunderstanding of some gas-mask putting u to sleep.. its not.. thats for oxygen i believe... they take out the IV drip and put G.A into instead.. note: your body is smart... it can tell the difference between good things going into you, and bad things going into you, IV drip/Anti-biotics feel like icicles..general Anesthesia feels like what a venomous snake would feel like if she spat inside your arm? It feels like a burning fire sensation.. at that time i just prayed that i quickly fall asleep.. and 10-15 seconds later i did =)
When i woke up my mouth was filled with saliva!! The taste in my mouth and the top of my mouth was like poisonous medicine is was gross!! I pointed to my mouth and the nurse sweep my saliva out of my mouth.. i tried to open my eyes but it was damn difficult cuz i was sooo tired and sleepy. Ppl say they couldnt remember but strangely i remember everything quite well.. they did a good job moving me from the operation table onto my bed i was not hurt this piont (others on here disagree tho)
Someone else also said they puked and barf and i was remembering that while i was healing.. and i did feel a bit pukey BUT I KNEw if i coughed, sneeze, laughed, yawn PUKING would be the MOST MOST painful and yes just like someone said.. It might be a vicious cycle, but that never hapen to me. Im really un satisifed with my nose, i think it made me uglier not prettier... im definately less cute. But Dr Hsu did a AMAZING job on the alar my nostrils look like perfect. But my nose is too high... i'll have to update u guys when the swelling is down.. cuz its so unfair right now.
BTW when u go to the operation room u gotta stripe down.. no bra, yes ppl will see your boobs even the doctor or course. you have to take your panties off, and socks and slippers EVERYTHING, they even removed my hair tie O_O... cuz u cannot have anything carrying bateria.. i always wondered what they did too me while i was asleep.. and i have the feeling they were cleaning me with a red solution... cuz i saw on my bed some orangey red stuff... but i know for sure i didnt not bleed from myself.. or have my period.. it was awkward..until i notice my belly button had red stuff in it too.. and i thought i was bleeding from inside my belly button... so that was quite unknown to me still.....
I gtg now... i'll update u guys again. Yes i cried 3 times the whole time in taiwan... You guys gotta stay strong.. Surgery is something u neeed to think about seriously... u can cry and regret all u want.. but u cannot go back in time..........
I don't know how much percent but your nose will sure change... your nose is still swelling.. that why it looks tall and not natural.. the change will be 6 month later.. you can take some photos 6 month later you compare...Blissful09 wrote:its quite fine, because im reaching the 2 weeks point... and i still think its quite honking big =(
So im glad it will go smaller, but yeah its not as scary long as before... its still long tho.. i think next week it will reach medium.. i dont want it to shrink to short.. i think it will be fine
hello84 oh you said u are 9months post op can i ask you how much (%) it looks different compared from 2 weeks for you? Cuz im still 2 weeks and i can say it changed 5% So for you... @ 9months how much different it look?
I would be happy if it changed another 25%......... it needs to be thinner my mid-piont (top of my bulb tip)
