I read on a doctor's forum using 2 ear cartiledges is more painful then using rib..
i dont see how that makes sense.
Can anyone who did rib tell me how painful it is? Or someone who used ear?
Because im guessing the ear is more of a burning sensation then a "PAIN" ful sensation

Can I share my experience?

I just had my rhinoplasty with a local doctor. Initially, he numbed my ear intended to extract my ear cartilage. But when he opened up my nose, he said he found some cartilage, no need to cut my ear.

I dont really care about the scar cos i feel it can be cover up..hahah...

yep, mine is soley using rib, no ear graft or other material. I think my tip he either use my rib or my orignal nose graft.. Cos he did mention that if my nose graft is enough, he will used that if not, he will use the ear or the rib.
But i think he used my rib for my tip cos my tip area is super hard. hahha

There isnt much post service treatment nor service.
When i went back to remove the stitches, i did went for the light therapy thingy which cost NT200 i think for 20minutes.

The nurses in the cosmetics surgery department are very friendly also.
One of the nurse told me about the 'wu gong cao' and i did follow her instruction to drink.
You can get 'wu gong cao' at those medical hall, can also asked them to brew for you....
Can only drink it for 3 days cos apparently its too 'cooling' for us, girls. so cannot drink for too many days.
Think it did help me to deswell quite abit cos back then i was really swelling very badly.

I think my nose healing rate is pretty fast. Cos now its just 2wks plus after the surgery, it doesnt really seem swollen cos the shape its pretty define now.
And my tip is quite sharp already. i wouldnt want it to go any sharper cos i think i will look like a witch if it does.... lol
Hi Ms Juice,
I'm new in this forum and i just wanted to find out from you why didn't you choose Dr Chuang to operate your chin instead you decide on Dr Kao? I'm thinking of a chin implant too and would like to hear yr opinion. Is yr wound getting better now? did you opt for Silicon cartilage or Medpor? sorry so many questions to ask
Thank you :D

Recovery period

Post by Pinkyice » Wed, 01 Jul 2009 12:26 pm

Does anyone knows how long after surgery before it's okie to exercise.
I am having double eyelid revision, eyelash transplant and levator surgery on 10th July.
But I have a bicycle trip on 18th July which is around 50km.
Will it be okie if I join in the trip? I emailed my surgeon and he said it's okie to exercise but I am still worried...
aadvark, any advice?

Dr. Kao finally responded to my email except he didn't tell me how much the surgery would cost me...lol... I asked him to give me a price estimate.
I am so disappointed because he said that I might need rib surgery and I really didn't want to use rib. He said that the results could be limited without rib. He said that he needs to examine me in person so we made an appointment for early December.
Dr. Kao also said that he can perform eyelid surgery and medial epi on me too. Since he took so long responding to my email and because I wasn't sure if he even did eyelid surgery, I consulted with Dr. Yang from Artwood. Dr. Yang seems extremely knowledgeable about the eyes. He is very professional, friendly, informative, and prompt. He explained to me that my left eye is smaller than my right eye and that I have a mild psotis on my left eye. He said that's why my eyeliner is thicker on my left eye. I always noticed that my eyeliner was thicker on my left eye, but I never understood why.
Dr. Yang quoted me the following prices, which is very reasonable compared to the U.S.:

levator surgery to enlarge the eye (with revision of fold): 60,000 NTD
surcharge of asymmetry ptosis: 10,000 NTD
epicanthoplasty: 20,000 NTD
surcharge of pain-free anesthesia: 2,000 NTD
