Recreational Singing Groups or Choirs

Post by SRJ » Fri, 23 May 2008 4:37 pm

Hi- I've been looking for a group of somesort that get together to sing recreationally, but sadly I've had no luck at all! The choirs seem to be restricted to youth or super religious and I was just looking for an adult choir or group that may get together and sing anything from theatre songs, opera or jazz for fun and to maintain singing skills.

If anyone has any info or ideas I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks.

Recreational ? ? ?

I believe most of the choirs here perform

No harm asking if you could just join them for rehearsals without having to perform . . .

Looking for ladies to join our newly minted barbershop acapella group. No experience required. Just a love for singing, and an ability to hold your own tune. Meets Wednesdays 7.15pm to 9.15pm on Everton Road. Email me at [email protected]

Looking to form a casual vocal ensemble/group

Post by Ionian » Wed, 03 Oct 2012 11:31 am

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in forming a casual vocal ensemble/interest group. I was thinking more in the lines of a more social setting ala Madrigalesque (Meet together, have a meal/dessert, then have a good sing with a beer/wine/7-up in hand, etc.) I'm not really interested in any particular genre/era (although I'm sure I can find some saucy madrigals somewhere... *grinz*)Organum, Motets, Barbershop, Jazz, anything under the sun! You have it, we'll sing it!

We could meet up whenever everyone is free, have a pot luck and sing. Just rock on up, bring food/drinks/scores and enjoy the session.
