Anything from $3.75/hr up. Is that what you wanted to hear? There is no minimum wage in Singapore so it would probably be along the lines of about $5.00/hr but there are no guarantees.

You are not allowed to work at all on an LTSVP.
You would have to be on a valid Student Visa and then you are limited to 16 hours/week max.

Did you even bother to read the thread. If you had you wouldn't have asked the question as it's already been answered.

I wondered over to this site from expatsingapore and got some great information on the entrepass thread. One of the nice things about this site is the near absence of posters who provide more insults than information. I say near absence because I keep noticing that SMS tends to ridicule people a lot, and I'm surprised to see that SMS is a moderator, whose job should be preventing this kind of thing. Personally, and I'm sure this goes for many visitors, this kind of thing is a real turnoff. Unless SMS is the owner of the site, I'm at a loss why insulting well-meaning visitors is considered part of the moderator's job description.

Well chip if the newbie do not read previous thread and jsut jump in and ask don't you think its kinda annoying .. they will be posting same thread and topic and that is useless...
however any new user must know what to ask and as he has a topic they is the open called"search" so he can clarify his doubt by searvhing for similar issue if he find not then he can post.. other wise cant help it
its very normal to be sarcistic thats how it is
and after all remember this is a forum...
hope this is understood

I have a friend who works at Borders...Who earns $6.00 an hour...
She is an Aussie girl, been here with her husband for 4 years... late 20's...She just loves working and wanted a career change from hairdressing...
Its not a lot...I think everyone needs to be a LOT kinder to our servers and cashiers...I imagine Starbuck etc pay less than borders...
$6.00! Oh and 30% off books- works part time I think.. but when you start all you do all day is put books on shelves...and pick up the magaznes that pigs leave lying around the place after reading them with their sticky fingers!

notwavingdrowning...is back from the Ashram and looking for a new career.

My son worked at McDonald's about 2-3 years ago while a student through the program at the American Embassy. He was 'allowed' to work one month and got paid between $3.50-$4.00 an hour. The manager was impressed with his work and yet his hands were tied in having him work longer than the month. It was great for my son at the time, but unfortunate that young expats that want to work aren't allowed.

Having worked several jobs here (I'm a PR, so no troubles with visas or permits). Here is what I can say about hourly part-time rates.
MacDonalds - $3.50 - $4.50
Starbucks/Coffee Bean - $5.50 - $7.00 (Depends on experience, your starting rate will differ)
Most restaurant chains - $5.50-$7.00
Most bars - $6.00 - $8.00 (Server positions, obviously bartenders rate will be slighty higher
Some GOOD bars - $10 to $15 (however, to score employment there is very hard)
The restaurant/bar I currenly work for (which will remain un-named) - $8.00 + tips (averages $0.00 - $40.00 per shift)
Hope this gives whoever's interested a fair idea of such part-time wages!
Cheers!

The following is the only way. You are limited by both the number of hours you can work and the institution you are attending.
