I'm a young expat female from Aus and have been living here in Singapore for the past two years. My current lease is soon to be completed by the end of June so i am on the prowl for new housemates to share a residence with.
I am looking taking up a year lease for a three bedroom place at either the Burlington Square or the Bencoolen next to Bugis.
I have dibs on the master bedroom which leaves the other two rooms up for grabs. The rents looking at being between $1500 to $2000 for each room depending on size and the final negotiated price of rent per month when the lease is signed.
With that, do i have anyone interested in taking up a room with me in June?
If your rent is that high and you're wanting to rent out your rooms for that price to recover for your lease, you are paying too much. Why not look for a 1 or 2 BR at a lower rent and have a place to yourself or one other at a more reasonable rent? I don't think anyone will be willing to rent a room for your asking price when they can rent their own place for the same or close to the same amount. You need to re-think your offer.
I live in Clementi, it's about 15 mins to Raffles by MRT. When I used to work there, from the time I left my unit to the time I got into my office took approx. 30-35 min depending on how long I had to wait for the train. Not sure if you can still get the same rent in Clementi now, may be a bit more since the rents have gone up (I'm actually paying $1300/month).
Yep, you're right. About the useless post that is......
