Planning to relocate

Post by msdl_cruz » Wed, 14 May 2008 6:01 pm

hi guys,

presently, im in Abu Dhabi, UAE working as a secretary/receptionist in one of the contracting companies here, but actually im a chemical engineer but since i dont have any experience in any oil & gas related jobs, its kinda hard to look for job related to my profession. Also, the usual jobs for females here are administrative and secretarial jobs, so i grabbed since i've spent much of my time and money looking for work. But now, having a tough life here, too much high rent, food, transpo, etc., i am thinking of moving to singapore, if you help me out guys for feeding me some info/advices about the standard/cost of living, how to find jobs related to my profession or even in administrative works, what are the ranges of the salary, etc. thanks in advance in taking time to read and giving some advices,, :)

actually before i went here, i was planning already of going to singapore coz one of my good friends from college was inviting me to come and find work there, but my parents weren't ok with that for some reasons, instead they asked me to go to UAE since i have a first cuz here. but now, having found the standard of living, the labor rules, the way arabic people think and treat people, i was having regrets now for coming here. but i have to be more cautious now than ever before jumping again from one country to another.

it's a jungle out here in singapore!!! it will be just as cut throat as in UAE. you main thing is to secure a job but that is NOT easy unless your skills are unique and there's a demand for it.

I don't suppose she is too worried of the jungle, providing there is a fair chance of survival...Not the same in UAE if she is a female, its like teasing a lion with raw meat. The culture is far from acceptable for most women, in a mans world.
I guess that is bothering her, many male chauvinist Countries can be quite ruthless and cruel to females, because women are supposed to be more liberated from the west, which makes them fair game for the predators. Sad but I think it maybe true.
