EPass rejected with new company

Post by corinthian » Tue, 13 May 2008 12:39 pm

I came to Singapore last year, and got employed in September.

My EPass was approved without a hitch, I'm planning to leave my current company, and my new employer applied for an EPass 3 days ago.

I received a notification that it was rejected :(

Am I just unlucky?

Anyone know the reason why the MoM rejected a new EP apllication, when my original EP was approved?

My salary, experience, and qualifications fit the criteria for an EPass...

I just can't understand if I got approved before, why is my new EPass application being rejected?

Just because you got an EP for one job you'll automatically get it for another.

Anyway, why leave your job so soon after the company kindly applied for an EP for you??

It may have nothing to do with you or your qualifications. It may well be the employer. It is up to the employer to justify the hiring of a foreigner instead of a local. This is especially so if there are lots of suitably qualified locals able to fill the particular skillset that the employer requires. If there is no real justification why they have to have a foreigner then it will be rejected as EP's are based on sponsorship from an Employer.
