Home Tutors!...Does anybody know where I Could Find one?

Post by stueycg » Mon, 12 May 2008 3:07 pm

We have just moved over to Singapore from the UK and are desperate to get a home tutor for our 7 & 8 year old sons, whilst they sit on the long and arduous 'School waiting lists'!!

Does anybody know where I could find the primary school tutor that we require!?

All help would be kindly accepted and appreciated.

Look on any bulletin board at any major bus stop, check the bulletin board at he Supermarkets like Jasons or cold Storage Jelita. Look in the classified at this site, or in the newspaper.

Will you be interested in sending your children to a local tuition centre for primary school? It is at Woodland, run by my ex-primary school teacher. This teacher of mine changed my life, if it was not her, I will not be what I am today.

Hi stueycg,

I haven't posted enough on here so can't PM you but I am an ex-kindergarten teacher and may be able to help you if you're still looking for a stop-gap for your sons while they're waitlisted.

Cheers,
SJ

While it is advertising you have a bigger problem in as much as you will also be working illegally in Singapore if you are on a tourist visa or even if you get a LTSVP as your other post indicates.

:oops!: Sorry, as I said earlier (perhaps not clearly enough), I'm not trying to advertise, more help out if I can with info/contacts.

SMS - I'm not on a tourist visa or LTSVP. My other post was from over a year ago, before I moved here, IIRC.

But in any case, sorry again for any confusion, I'm not actually actively looking for work but I do know it's hard to get answers to all the questions you have when you move here!

Hi!

Got a tutor for my son who's about to enter primary.

I just walked around our area and went to one pre-school to the other asking for school based tutorial (tuition as it is termed locally).

No tutorial courses were being offered but one of the teachers I spoke with offered to drop by the house after school for home-based tutorial!

I think the proximity of my place to the school was a big plus for her since she didn't have to take the bus or the train anymore. Plus, she waits for husband to pick her up anyway so might as well be productive while waiting.

Hope this helps!
