SMSEmployment of Foreign Students
Foreign students are not allowed to work in Singapore during term time or vacation time unless they are granted Work Pass exemption under the Employment of Foreign Manpower (Work Pass Exemptions) Notification. The details of the exemption notification are available below.
Foreign students who wish to undergo any form of Industrial Attachment (IA) must apply for a relevant training pass (either Training Work Permit or Training Employment Pass). They will be prosecuted under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act (EFMA) if they are found to be undergoing IA without a valid training pass.

That said, my statement does apply to all the foreign students studying in all the private educational institutions here, and there are many of them. I have known quite a few and I find the way they're treated extremely unfair. Somehow they don't qualify as 'real' students here. They are the educational equivalent of foreign labour as opposed to foreign talent.
I will be more careful in future however.
