Affordable Eastside Hotel or Service Apartment for 30 days?

My wife and I will be arriving in Singapore in July. We have read a lot on this and other forums about Housing prices and have decided to shop for about 30 days after we arrive, so we can see places in person.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a reasonably priced Hotel or Service Apartment on the east side? Our Office is near the Airport. We are hoping to find temp place around $5000 per month in fair to good condition with internet and around some shopping, restaurants, and transit.

most Service Apartments are in the orchard/river valley area.

you could check out the Grand Mercure Roxy hotel. enquire for long stay rates. it's at Marine Parade, just 5-10 mins drive to the airport. shopping/food/supermarkets/recreation within walking distance

other hotels in the east include Paramount hotel and Meridien Changi Village

Try Lotus at Joo Chiat Serviced Apartments, in the lively area Geylang-Katong in the east.
