Greetings forum-dwellers. I am a 27-year-old U.S. citizen currently employed and residing in the U.S. My only fluent language is English. I am currently looking to find a job as a software engineer in Singapore in order to relocate to that region.
I currently work as a senior software engineer in the U.S., and have about 4 years professional experience as a SE. In the U.S. I generally have companies contacting me from time to time to "jump-ship" and move to their company as a SE, so I am hoping I will be as sought after in Singapore. My degree is in Computer Science (BS) and I graduated with a very high GPA.
Due to the demands of my current job as well as costs and time associated with a visit, I am unable to visit Singapore until I have secured employment there. I assume it is not uncommon for a foreigner to search for and interview for positions without actually being in Singapore, but I want to make sure. I'm also interested in my chances of obtaining good employment as a SE in Singapore. I will of course need to work with the company to secure an employment visa once offered a job.
Any comments, suggestions, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
