Biometric passport or machine readable passport to US Entry?

Post by natash_sg » Sun, 27 Apr 2008 10:43 am

Hi ladies

My friend will be travelling to US and if any one can kindly assist if a machine readable passport would be sufficient to enter US or do we need a bio metric passport for entry?

Also question. Do we need a Baby car seat for driving in
US or a Booster seat would be fine? Couldnt get any additional info from the embassy, thus if you ladies have any contributions, deeply appreciated.

Thanks

You have not indicated your citizenship so it would be hard to give you a correct answer. Looking at your nick I would assume you may well be a Singaporean so if that's the case this should answer your question:

You basically can still use a machine readable passport but you cannot get the automatic visa waver entry. I think this is the same for the 27 countries that the US as under the Visa Waiver Program. Other countries you would have to check with the respective embassy as they should have the latest requirements for their country.

Driving laws are determined by individual states and there happen to be 50 of them.

Many states do require proper car seats up to certain ages and/or weight limits.
Best to do some online searching (e.g. Google) to find the respective motor vehicle entities (e.g. DMV in CA, etc.) in the states you intend to drive in.
