Transportation of Dogs from the UK to Singapore

Post by Ilovemypets » Fri, 25 Apr 2008 8:21 pm

Hi,

I am due to relocate to Sinapore from the UK in September. My only reservation about doing this is the welbeing of my dogs during transportation. I have read about so many bad experinces regarding injury and death due to ventilation and extreme hot/cold temperatures whilst on board. Can anyone offer me advice/experiences regarding this?

Certain breeds (e.g. snub-nosed dogs) are now refused by most carriers for the reasons you cited.
Contact the airlines directly for transportation questions.
You'll get the best info from them.

If they will transport your dog, best to have a direct flight (if there are any).
Transits are the biggest issue, especially in summer.

If your dog is one the airlines would be willing to carry, then you need to arrange for an import permit. Check the AVA site:

P.S. Imported an old Shih-Tzu/Maltese from China ~ 6 months ago.
