i don't think there's sufficient research for people to go into a frenzy of snapping up steel bottles and avoiding canned food (yes, it's in the lining too, and in most processed food) and what not.
there're also traces of unhealthy (and possibly carcinogenic) substances in breast milk. this is by no fault of parent/child; just the food and environment.
take it easy! just like "mercury in fish" and "lead in water" and "arsenic in vegetables" and "doodoo in beer"... oh my. the list goes on.
wacky canadians...
if i had to give any advice, don't re-use disposable plastic containers, don't heat plastic containers up too much (if at all) and don't store liquids in them for too long.
