Tenancy termination

Post by sumbest » Tue, 22 Apr 2008 1:37 pm

I just signed two days back, tenancy agreement for Master Bed Room in HDB flat in Jurong West for 6 months. I have paid 1 month rent and 1 month advance to the landlord. I wish to terminate due to reason of shifting to other place of work as travelling is quite long. Can I recieve my 1 month advance from landlord and terminate the tenancy with 1 month notice. How is it to be done if this situation of terminating tenancy agreement in initial stage arise?

depends on what you signed for - my guess is at least a year - in which case, you have little chance of getting it back

also depends on the landlord and what's written in the contract.

it is very unlikely you'll get anything back. It is all up to the landlord, coz if it went through an agent, agent fee was paid out as well.

Who knows, maybe the landlord is a really nice person and will refund everything. 8-)
