For those that earn more than 100K

Hi,

Can someone share me so insight on your current package?
I am really interested for those that earn more than 100K per year.

How many years of experience do you have?
What kind of position do you hold and in which industry?
How old are you?

Thanks....

What do you intend to use this info for?

Why are you asking?

I'm currently on a package the value of which is approximately S$473,500 a year including bonuses (3x year). I have over 40 years of experience and it's all "in my dreams". Does that help?

Oh, and to answer the original questions:
Probably way more experience than you do.
A good position in high tech.
Probably way older than you.

Wondering about when you should expect to receive 100K?
There are many old people with many years of experience in all industries that don't make anywhere near 100K.

What matters is what you've done in the time you've had and with the experience you've gained.
While chasing your dream accomplish something that people will value and you might get something for it.

I think it depends what line you are in. But I would say after 10+ years in a real profession, you should there or there abouts on 100k

Hi,

Sorry I didn't mean to be rude. I am currently 28 years old, in that package and working in IT in Australia. I really want to move to Singapore but not sure what sort of salary I can expect and for that position what sort of position I can aim for.

If i know clearly what sort of position at least I can start move my career direction toward that goal (e.g. if consultant pays more than pm, then I will try to go to the consultant field instead of pm).

But then I know that Australia and Singapore are different. We have much higher tax and living cost here.

Thanks so much for sharing.

I wouldn't be so sure about the living cost...

Singapore aint cheap! Don't get me wrong it can be. If you want to live your Aussie lifestyle though it wont be... It will be similar to Sydney...

Just have a look at rents for a start...

8-)

Hi ozisingfly,

Thanks for your advice.

I am currently monitoring the job advertising in IT sectors from either job search engine in Australia and Singapore. But the problem is rarely do those jobs comes with salary information.

Can you have any advice on what sort of position in IT which has salary at least 100K and do you think professional experience can compromise for the lack of years of experience?

Thanks.

Check the following somewhat related thread:

http://www.singaporeexpats.com/forum/ft ... ef7040eec4

There's a link in there to a salary survey by kellyglobal.
It should give you an idea about what to expect.
