Anybody into Jazz or Fusion?

Post by loss4words » Fri, 18 Apr 2008 12:48 am

Recent ex-pat from New York City who misses going to the Blue Note. Would love to meet other easy-going, low key, professionals, iinterested in checking out the jazz scene in Singapore. I have heard that there is actually is some though I have yet to find it.

try Crazy Elephant at Clarke Quay on Thursday nights. Sunday night is jam, Thursday jazz and every other night blues rock.

i'll go any night but Thursday - sorry, but each to their own.
Divers just love going deep and getting wet (not to mention all that rubber!)

I have never been to Blue Note but of course always wanted to. I listen to all kind of music, and recently just moved here. So it'd be nice to hang out especially during the weekend. Drop me a line at [email protected]. Bye now-

Blue Jaz Cafe has some great acts, local and from elsewhere and is free most of the time and has cheap beer and is not on Quay.

Music fan

Post by rachelthorpe » Fri, 25 Apr 2008 11:15 am

Hi there

New here too - from UK. Massive fan of music so let me know if you have found anywhere I'd be happy to meet up. There's a gig on Monday night - Sterophonics not quite Jazz but it'll be live. Keen to go but haven't found any friends here yet!

Cheers

Rachel

not a fan of the Stereophonic but if you ever want to sink a few beers at the Blu Jazz and dig the sounds (one a month there are some cool soul/funk/disco DJs playing) feel free to say hi.

Hi, I am a jazz fan as well. I have heard about this jazz bar at boat quay. I want to check it out if anybody is interested, maybe on Sunday night? Always good to end the weekend with some good tunes before the hectic work week starts again.

Sterophonics

Post by rachelthorpe » Mon, 28 Apr 2008 11:47 am

Hi Aussieinsingapore

Yep still going to Sterophonics - meeting some other contacts from this forum. Not sure how this all works but I'm meeting them at 6.45 at Number 5 bar - Emerald Hill. So I guess if you still want to come then see you there. I haven't got a ticket yet but I have been assured you can buy them at the door.

Cheers

Rachel
