International call cards are more convenient and relatively cheap. Or you can try what the above suggested, skype. But the quality is not much better than call cards.

Although its free if the other person uses skype too. You only pay, if you use skype to ring a fixed line or mobile...

I'd recommend skype if you have a computer and broadband connection. You can even buy a skype phone for around $50 or so, so it's just like using a normal phone. I call Canada all the time using it, connection quality seems fine, and even calling a fixed line the price is still very cheap.

Which countries do you usually call to? There're some free IDD services to some certain countries, but very depend on which mobile service providers you are subcribing to.
You can refer to: www.singtel.com.sg / www.starhub.com.sg / www.m1.com.sg

I have a sunshine card, and the quality is just fine plus it seems to last quite a long time, I also use skype which is great but not as convenient as you kind of have to arrange a time to call.

you will get diferent country which is best price and quality card. Good luck to find it

if u are on facebook, there is an application there that allows you to send global SMS-es for free..

so that will probably cut down a lot on your overseas charges.. think you can add the application at: apps.facebook.com/smsdodo

hope this helps..

Your best bet is to use Skype and one of the many available skype enabled handsets that you can use just like a cordless phone with your home wireless Internet.
