Where to by Asus Eee PC 900 on release?

Post by villjam » Thu, 17 Apr 2008 8:56 pm

Hi,

I have a problem that i need some help with.

I'm going on vacation from sweden to malaysia/singapore. I wish to buy a Eee PC 900 laptop on april 25 between 8-10am in singapore. Thats all the time I have be cause my plane to KL leaves just after 11. The thing is that the official release date for that computer is the 23th of april. Is it even possible to pick it up from a store that soon after? If so, where do i have the best chance to pick one up?

Thanks
/Villjam Edstrom

or maybe you want to wait for the MSI equivalent of the Asus eee PC? it is suppose to be cheaper, longer battery life (4-cell battery), brand new intel atom CPU running at 1.6GHz, 10inch screen, less than 1kg, less than 1inch thick, 1 GB RAM, 4GB solid-state flash HDD.

so, still want a Asus eee PC 900?

Thanks for you answer. I've asked a couple of stores about the possibility to purchase an Eee 900. Still waiting for replys.

The thing is I really need the small computer when I start my vacation. If I had the time to wait, I would.

Right now it seems as if I have to buy an older 701 and then replace it in three weeks when I return home. It's fine by me but a bit more complicated and expensive...

Asus will also launch the 10.2 inch this month, it will be available in Taiwan before the end of this month, I think 560$ US or 17000NT$
Here's the latest. Computex is on now I think! All will have intels new atom and better spec!

Computex : Acer has launched its Eee PC wannabe, the Aspire One, pitching the product to Brits at just £199 including VAT - even though it's "not a low-cost notebook", according to the company.

The One's specs largely match those of its rivals: 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor; 512MB of 533MHz DDR 2 memory with a single SO-Dimm slot for more; and an 8.9in, 1024 x 600, 262,000-colour LED-backlit display. There's a 0.3-megapixel webcam in the screen bezel.
