i think the OP prefer the packaging than the product! maybe OP gonna put it in a time capsule? therefore the packaging is crucial so that whoever find it in years to come will know what it is. :P

personally, i will go with the seagate as i think it has a 5-years warranty. :)

I just picked up the buffallo link station, and its painfully slow for storing and retrieving data, there again could be me plugging it in wrong  In the end I just stuck a 1tb hard disk in the machine, and it does the job

Plastics bags and old boxes need to be packaged meh? Thought we were supposed to be saving the environment.

I'm also placing bets on the empty shampoo bottles being those whipped out of the odd hotel bathroom on a freebie

i think the OP is the type of person who will leave the plastic wrapping on the seat when buying a new car. :P

ha ha spot on, dont call me sponger for nothing, and not just any old freebie, they are those fancy Acqua di parma range. Everyday we had 5 bars of soap (full size ones) one for the shower, his sink, her sink and bidet, and bath, plus giant tubes of face creams, shower body wash, hair conditioner, shampoos. We stayed for 8 days, you do the maths... I had to get a new bag to carry the stuff back, 4 months later still working my way through it :D.
