Applying for PR but wife doesn't want to

Post by rockstar » Wed, 16 Apr 2008 1:14 pm

Apologies for another PR question, but I can't find this answer anywhere. Me and my wife are currently both employed in Singapore although she will be quitting soon so will become dependant on me. I want to apply for PR, but she doesn't. Can she still be on a dependant pass if I am PR ?

No! If you get PR, your wife will qualify for the LTSVP, which is for 6 months, basically the same, but she would still qualify for PR status automatically, if ever she wished to apply for PR..

Although you may not be able to purchase certain property like HDB..both have to be PR, so pros and cons...

Yep you're right. Good thing too as expats tend to like the additional room the "second-hand" flats provide. When a new 5 room flat only has 105sg/m and my "second-hand" flats has 121sg/m and cost me the same I figure the New Flat buyers are the suckers. Even with the new design & build flats. The workmanship and designs are enough to gag a maggot.

So in this case the hehehe is on you.....   :P
