american electronics -do they work in singapore?

hi moving to singapore from america -wondering if i need to sell of fmy TV, music system, blender -all electronics. -in case i move back in 2 yrs, i would have lost money in selling it off now. any advice? pls help

you can get a step-down converter to get US electrical apps to work in singapore. only you know whether you want to bring all your stuff over. just remember a step-down converter is only a temp solution. they are not for continues use.

Leave them at home. How long is your contract for? Transformers work for the short term(months)and everything you need can be found here. You also learn to do without some of those electrical items because eating out can be inexpensive if you choose the right places. Welcome to Singapore!

it's not only the voltage, the tv signal is different so unless your equipment can handle both ntsc and pal don't bother - transformers are bulky, ugly and run hot so I would not advise. I run one to recharge my drill batteries only, when we moved from west coast, we sold off and repurchased most gear - my wife is Singaporean and gave me the good advice.
