Need an online associate degree from an accredited college!

Post by nike.neo » Sat, 05 Apr 2008 2:27 pm

Hello, I’m 46 years old. I've got all kinds of experience in Transportation Management...23 years of it. But I'm constantly getting passed over for the big promotion by some kid next door with no experience and a degree. This only means that a degree is needed no matter you have experience. Right? I think may be a degree on my resume might help? Is an associate’s degree enough to start out with? After I get it, I can progress to a bachelor’s. Now I'm not loaded (3 kids with the oldest just entering college age)...so I'm looking for value...but I don't want to waste my money either. I need your suggestions to get me some of the good online colleges that offer associate degrees and also considering the accreditation issue. I’m driving my wife nuts with all this. Thanks!!!

The AA degree isn't going to help you too much as it's now really a degree. I'm assuming here that you are an American as that's a term I've only ever seen used in the US. It is the equivalent of a Diploma here and while it's helpful, it's does not meet the requirement of a Degree. A "Degree" means, at the very least, a Bachelors Degree.

I do understand the frustration however that you are going through as I went through the same process but several decades ago.

Make sure that your company's OHR recognizes online degrees - quite a few do NOT.

First I want to appreciate you, that you have taken a good decision. This field has good scope. I know one site that provide list of online degree colleges. Visit http://www.distance-learning-college-gu ... egree.html . Here you can request for information from two or more of those colleges to compare who has the best offering that suits your needs. I hope it will help you.
