Going rates for freelance writing

Post by Ginaxxx » Mon, 31 Mar 2008 4:05 pm

Hi,

I just started working for a local media company doing freelance writing, mainly scriptwriting. Can anyone guide me with the rates to charge as I have no idea. I am a uni graduate.

Thanks in advance!

Being a uni grad has no bearing at all unless it is a relevant degree.

What is the going rate for freelance writing?

I only mentioned it because it means I am a beginner, just graduated so no portfolio, would not be able to charge top rates.

Anybody else with some helpful advice thanks.

I have a friend doing it and as long as he writes relevant and interesting he does ok, Singapore is not the place for gonzo Journalism so playing it safe is the only real rule, sad but true.
