Question about Singapore Credit Cards

Post by ptechnix » Sat, 29 Mar 2008 4:22 pm

Hi,

I'm moving to Singapore in a few months with my wife. She's a Singapore Citizen, I'm an Australian Citizen. Even though I'll be living in Singapore, I'll still be working in the Australian market (share trading on the ASX from SG so it doesn't matter where I am).

Seeing as I won't be drawing a local income, is there anyway for me to apply for a local Credit Card? I contacted Citibank and they said I couldn't unless I drew a local income.

Any advice would be ace! :)

Easiest way is to become a Supplementary Card holder of your wife's card.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah that is what we have to do in the worst case scenario. I was hoping to receive one on my own merits as she may only work part time, or possibly not at all if I can afford it.

So any card that she may be eligible for would have the most minimal of limits. Having one based on my own income would have a limit that would be more reasonable.
