Custom and duty charges for sending goods to Singapore

Pardon my monikers,

I am wondering what if the maximum value of the goods in the package if I didnt want Singaporean gov to tax me. (I've paid way too much taxes for this country duh)

I have spent around US$600 before ordering from US Amazon and ship it with USPS and there's no appicable custom albeit it literary feels like snail mail

But I wanted to use Fed Ex or UPS now because of lower shipping charges and I ve heard different things about the maximum value for not paying for custom charges. My shopping bag will be around US$800

So anyone have bought things in the US before and having to pay for customs ?
