how legitimate are realty agent's licence?

i think half the singapore poplulation are realty agent! so how legitimate are they? almost all of them on their business card has a licence number but how do i check if the licence number are valid? is there a website i can check their licence number?

I was doing some research on the sector, I discovered on a international website only 11 people, that are qualified to international standards in Singapore, surely there must be more!

The agents, there are literally around 5000 and they normally qualify by doing the courses offered, by the guy holding the licence number.

The courses are not cheap and are on going, the licence holder takes a whopping 35% of the agents commission, so these guys are just churning agents out at will....there is only one person behind the scenes rolling in the cash, and me thinks, this is a closed shop in Singapore.

One of the realty licence holders just purchase a house knocked it down and rebuilt a new house at the back of my brother in laws, for 3.5 million.

I'm sure you can check the numbers out, i'll ask someon I know, he's also an agent.
