Stick to KLCC and Bukit Bintang in the centre of KL, don't bother with the MegaMall on the outskirts unless you have spare time.

By sticking near the centre you see Petronas Tower and the KL Tower and everything else KL basically has to offer.

Don't know what you mean by stamping passports, other than what you'll get at the border anyway :?

I'm not too up on budget hotels because one person's definition of budget hotel is another person's youth hostel. There's plenty online hotel booking sites covering KL so will just depend on how much you want to spend.

you can visit chinatown/petaling street in KL. there's a night market there, obviously during the night for fake rolex, dvd and the usual stuff. it's not anything special and you probably will get rip off, etc. and it's a heaven for pickpockets too.

for a all-in-one roof shopping, head for klcc. you can also wonder to bukit bintang for shopping malls (sungai wang, lot 10, bukit bintang plaza).

further afield, you will get the hypermarkets like giant, makro, tesco and carrefour. they are not in KL but in PJ, SJ or shah alam.

for hotels, have a look at www.asiarooms.com. i have used them a few times and they are tops.

I don't know where you're from, but evrywhere I've been the passport has been stamped at the point of entry/exit. How are you getting there? By land? or by air? Land=JB, Air=Airport (KL).

I've never watched it, but in the ads at least the contestants have the presence of mind to be embarrassed when they don't know the answer.

Threadstarter, you can also go to The Pavillion- an EXTREMELY huge shopping mall.

You can head to a cafe called The Loaf- it's a cafe set up by a former Malaysian Prime Minister :) The pastry there is oh-so-good.
