Career as a Pilot

Post by jadenpearl » Mon, 10 Mar 2008 2:31 pm

I am 16 this year. I am very interested to be a Pilot. What I would like to know is, if I go to a Polytechnic which course is more suitable for me to take in order to apply to become a Pilot later on. I am considering joining Youth Flying Club. Can anyone pls enlighten me on this?

For a 16 year old, I don't think anyone here would have the answer to your questions. Try looking into http://www.syfc.sg, Singapore Youth Flying Club's website. My brother who is in Secondary 1, inspires to be a pilot too. He is already in the club for a few weeks now but I'm not sure how the training goes coz I'm overseas now. So you might want to just explore the website and if you can't find the million answers you need, you can just email them. Good luck!

jadenpearl,
I don't think there is any one particular course that enhances your suitability to be a pilot. One may have a maths degree while another has engineering or some may have majored in sociology. I think it would be as well to ask a pilot but one thing is for sure don't put all your energy into learning to fly as many other factors relating to you as a person determine your suitability.
