Spotlight or possibly a place where they actually sell sewing machines could steer you in the right direction. Let others know what you discover.

Over the holidays they were selling sewing machines at Art Friend in Takashimaya/Ngee Ann City - the woman told me they had classes. But I'm not sure if they are only offered when you buy a machine there. Tel: (65) 6733 8482

Sewing classes

Post by Paolita » Mon, 24 Mar 2008 10:29 pm

I tried to find this myself, and found that the only classes available were done by Quilt shop. There is one on the top floor in Tanglin mall, but did not offer any formal classes for sewing other than quilts.
Somebody mentined a shop on the top floor in Plaza Singapora, that seems to specialize in arts and crafts, but I am never in that end of town, so I never checked it out.

I also tried the community center in Bukit Batok, but they said these type of classes were not offered.

Hope somebody finds a link to it. I will even consider private lessons :)
Hope this helps,

Paola

I tried sewing classes in Spotlight, didn't quite work for me. I had trouble understanding the explanations, maybe the level was too high for an absolute beginner like me.

Now looking for some private lessons, preferable at my home, working on projects together. Who knows somebody for this?

Thanks,
Iris
