car repair/painting shop

Post by luv2paint » Fri, 07 Mar 2008 4:57 pm

I scratched up the side of my car in a narrow car ramp and am now looking for an auto body shop to repair and re-paint the scratches. As there's no visible dent, how much should I expect to pay for this type of work? Could someone please recommend a reputable auto shop that won't cost too much? Anywhere within a 20 minute drive from the Farrer/Bukit Timah flyover would be great.

Thanks in advance. :)

With no dent..and depending on the size of the job, I would say a minimum of 50$ to $100, no more, my wife sister paid 300$ but that was having a badly damaged side repaired, and a complete spray job of the doors and sills, so if it's only a few scratches, on a door, they will normally spray the whole door, to do a good job, because the sunlight effects the paint over time, so spraying in few marks, may show up. But at most 1 door shouldn't be too expensive. You must shop around. Or i can ask the sister-in-law for the name of her garage. Although we live on the east side, so your looking at 30 minutes, if traffic is bad.

In the central area, the normal place to get painting works done would be the Sin Ming area.

I have tried this company twice, recommended by some fleet management friends.

I believe the standard rate for panel beating / putty and spray painting is around $200 per panel. That was 2 yrs ago.

You can take your pick of workshops at Sing Ming that can do re-spraying. I use a workshop up at kranji loop for re-spray work on my car, not because of accidents but cosmetic work
