Searching for accomodation in Singapore

We, my husband and me, are currently moving to Singapore. What is the best way to look for accomodation in Singapore - rental agents, newspaper adds, internet?? In Australia, for example, everybody rents through a rental agent, in Germany, Austria or Switzerland through private adds, in Belgium through rental agencies or internet adds. And what about Singapore? What would be the right way to go for someone who does not know the country well (we will be looking for a small property - 1 bdr - in Woodlands)?
