moving from hong kong....

We are planning to move to Singapore from Hong Kong later in the year. At the moment we live on the outlying islands because it is quieter and away from the city. I wonder, what would be the Singapore equivalent? Appreciate any comments/ help.

I was in Sai Kung for nearly 10-yrs but haven't really found anything to compare, and certainly at the prices there.

I think the closest you will come is to consider the majority here like the New Territories on the mainland and not the islands, meaning lower density than in town scattered with areas of nothing or not a lot.

Looking for an area that is more local, not expat-ville, with the possibility of getting a house (as we have now). I am just trying to get an idea of what the different areas of Singapore are like. Thanks for any comments....
