Hair Salons for Curly Hair

Post by jubilee1874 » Wed, 05 Mar 2008 9:07 pm

Can anyone recommend a good hair salon for getting curly hair cut? My hair is extremely curly but not quite to the point that it needs to be relaxed.
I'm usually wary getting it cut in the US and am even more so here so any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

My girlfriend recommended a hairdresser in Holland Village by the name of 'Cheryl' - Next Hair salon (www.nextthesalon.com).

It's quite a trendy little place and they give you 30 minute shampoo with head and neck massage....bliss! My cut cost around $60.00.

I have EXTREMELY curly hair (ringlets) as does my friend. I was really happy with the results. I usually have to explain how I want the cut but Cheryl knew exactly what I needed.

She is pregnant though so hopefully you can catch her before she has her baby.

Thanks for the info. I ended up going to a place called Essentuals by Toni & Guy (http://www.essensuals.co.uk/) in the Starhub Centre on Orchard. Marcus did a great job and it only cost $35. :)

Went last week and had Marcus cut my curly hair! THE BEST haircut I have had since moving here 2 yrs ago. He did an amazing job cutting and doing highlights in my naturally curly hair. I definitely recommend him!! HE is my hair's new best friend here in Singapore!!!

You may want to try Act Point (at Shaw Towers or International Building). Look for Sophie or Anson :) My curls and cuts are done by Sophie - excellent job.

Yeah, Marcus did a fantastic job on my long wavy hair too. He is the only hairdresser that I go to now. By the way, Marcus is now at Focus Hairdressing at Cuppage Plaza, just around the corner. You can get him at 68366608.

I have been having my hair cut by David at T & G but tried Marcus yesterday - as I can never get an appt with David when I want he - and my hair looks FAB !!! I would definately suggest going to him. I have bob length naturally very curly hi-lighted hair.

Try Edwin at Casey Inc at Palais Renaissance, Orchard road. The stylists there are all very experienced, especially with caucasian hair.

Caucasian hair? What's that even supposed to mean?? You either have straight or curly, thick or thin hair etc.

Well, yes. But every race has different hair. Asian hair has stronger cuticles so harder to damage. Caucasian hair is more delicate and prone to breaking.

But, yeah, don't let physiological facts get in the way of bumping a 4 year old post so you can make a point.

Edwin is fantastic. I think he might be the best hairdresser I have ever had.
