http://www.nparks.gov.sg/nature_central_hiking.asp

The Nparks website lists several nature reserves in Sg, and each reserve has it's own hiking trails.

The HSBC treetop walk is one I wld recommend. There are also many interesting trails ard the Lim Chu Kang military training grounds, but that's not exactly public access and u run the risk of being run over by Armoured Personnel Carriers.

Pulau Ubin is another interesting place to visit.

Hi all,

I am from HK, actually I did lots of Hiking in HK. That's why I am interested to explore the hiking place and natural environment in Singapore.

Is there anyone interest to go hiking together here in weekend, I have found some hiking trail in MacRitchie Reservoir Park, but havent been there, would be great if someone interested and go together!

I am keen too, but usually can't get anyone to go with, or it's usually others prefer to go early in the morning or do a fast trek, which is not my cup of tea. :P

I suggest you can join the mailing list of SIngapore Adverturers Club, i am in their mailing list. SOmetimes they have free treks around SIngapore. Went once and is quite fun and you get to do it with many other like minded people as well :D

it will definitely be on a weekend, sat or sun... overnit trip sat to sun also can... der is a big n nice clean campsite enuff for eight 6 men tent.

we will meet at rochor bus terminal to take express bus to larkin on sat morning 7am. for those who stay near woodlands can meet directly at woodlands checkpoint. we will take a bus to kluang which is 1.5hrs ride, from kluang we can take a feeder bus or share a cab to the plantation which is the trailhead.

tings to bring are pretty standard...

PASSPORT! (sum ppl tend to forget)
poncho/rain gear
water bottle 1L is enuff, unlimited water supply at the waterfalls :D
purification tablets (if u hv a weak stomach) buy at pharmacy
food
small torchlight
spare clothes
insect repellant
sunblock (optional)
wear proper good sandals

if overnit

tent (if u dun hv i can tell u where to buy a nice waterproof dome tent direct fr the supplier at only $35)
messtin (i hv a powerful stove good enuff for 6 ppl so u need not bring)
gas lamp (i will bring too)

GPS and first aid i will bring. will probably go on either tis weekend (good friday) or the week after. the trek in will take approx 1.5 to 2 hrs.

if i can get a grp of ppl who luvs to go hiking over the weekends regularly i can organize cost sharing trips to gunung belumut, panti, lambak or datuk in the near future :D
