car trip from singapore to mersing. Optimum travel time?

Post by cartusien » Sat, 01 Mar 2008 5:24 pm

Hello,

I plan to go to Tioman departing singapore at 12:15, just after catching the kids from school, and then catching the last ferry in Mersing at 4 PM.

So no time to loose.

can you please tell me how long it takes by car to go from Singapore to Mersing?

From Ang mo Kio tu tuas it is 30 mns, but then, from Tuas boarder to Mersing, how long will it take me by car?
2 hours, 2 hours and a half??

Every minuts is important!

thanks a lot for your answers

One dun take the tuas way to mersing. U shud be taking the causeway(woodlands) way to mersing. Dun need to worry about traffic if u r going at 12pm cos there wun be much traffic at that time. From ang mo kio to woodland only takes 30mins and 2.5hrs from jb to mersing at most. N from mersing to tioman takes 1.5hr. Better buy seasick pill if u n ya kids r not used to bumpy sea on ferry. Bear in mind the ferry is not a star cruise so windy weather makes ya trip to tioman pretty bumpy. :D

ang mo kio take cte, sle, bke, johor.

at the moment, u can be stuck at singapore customs for roughly an hour because the customs are checking every car for signs of the JI leader.

If u r going to get stuck then i suggest u leave for mersing by 1030 so that u may clear the causeway latest by 1230. If u head towards tuas at 12plus then u go to mersing will also miss the boat by then since now e escapee is still on the lose....wish ya luck!

I propose you go by air

the check point delay is quite unknown
trip from JB to mersing is about 2 to 3 hr
depend your on skill
meaning how well you can overtake slow moving lorry on a 1 lane 1 direction road

well tioman is quite relaxing
quite like the place
