Hello All,
I will be moving from the United States to Singapore with my wife in about a month and wanted to get a realistic idea of how much it would be to rent a 1 br or 2 br Flat or
condo at good location. Only thing I'm looking for is that the place is clean and its close to the MRT. Is it even still possible to find a place for around 2k SGD per month? If so usually how much deposit do these places require? Is it just one months rent or usually more? I've heard the rental fees have doubled in the last year and some places even require 3 months rent as a deposit. Is that a norm? I will not be getting a housing allowance so I want to find the most affordable place but wondering if the cost of living there is just too high to make this transition worth while.
Other than rental and car are there any other major costs that we should be aware of?
Thanks.
