Stationary - where to find in Singapore?
Stationary - where to find in Singapore?
Hi,
Can anyone lead me in the right direction for stationary supplies around the Orchard area or near MRT stations?
I am looking for stationary such as notebooks, pens, staplers etc
Boarders on Orchard sells notebooks for $19 each!!!
There must be somewhere else to pickup more reasonable priced stationary items.
Thanks!!

head to popular? definitely carrying a wider range with cheaper options.
there are many branches all around singapore, cehck out their website for the one most convenient for you? https://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/index.jsp

Popular bookstores - all over the place, including in Orchard MRT - Cheap and well-stocked. Biggest branch is probably in Bras Basah complex. The Japanese $2 store, Daiso, is non-specialist but probably has most of the stuff you need, branch in Plaza Singapura. There's a little stationery shop in Orchard Towers basement which has tons of stuff as well.

You're welcome! That's what we're all here for. We were once asking questions about Singapore or reading up on other people's postings before we came here. Now, we're in Singapore and have been around a bit... it's just fair that we give back something.S0phie wrote:Wow thanks heaps for all the quick replies and suggestions...

Oh by the way, if you really like nice (a bit fancy) set of stationery (though a bit pricier), you can try The Metropolitan Museum Shop. The branches in Singapore are in Vivo City, Suntec and Raffles City Shopping Centre.

Popular Bookshop above Orchard MRT? I believe it's still there?S0phie wrote:Hi,

Re: Stationary - where to find in Singapore?
Takashimaya has a stationery section. Otherwise there's an Evergreen (Everbest?) stationery store at Centrepoint (it's tucked away on the 4th or 5th floor), best to ask at the info desk. It's full of stuff and decently priced.

I posted similar question a few months back.. I think you can check

If not, the ones not mentioned already in your replies are Art Fiend in Takashimaya, and Carrefour. I go to the one at Suntec on 2nd level, but I'm guessing any Carrefour would have 1-2 aisles of stationary stuff.

Actually everything on sale in Carrefour is stationary as they are not allowed to sell livestock. Some of the items move when they fall off the shelves but this is because the staff who, from my observations a number of are either completely stationary or extremely sedentary, do not stack them properly.barbaraus wrote: but I'm guessing any Carrefour would have 1-2 aisles of stationary stuff.
You will certainly find some stationery in there too as well as in the locations identified by other more helpful and less pedantic posters. It is easy to remember the correct spelling of stationery as it is spelt with an "e" - the first letter of "envelopes". Another good one is "never eat cheese eat salad sandwiches" the initials of which are the correct first six letters of the word "necessary".
Yes, I do, for once have too much time on my hands as the boss is away and I AM IN CHARGE of the office today.
