Anyway here is my update to the makeover programme...

Image

I'll be doing

1) Cheekbone Reduction on right side
2) Blepharoplasty ( double lid and fat reshaping ) and epicanthoplasty
3) Revise alar ( narrower and higher up )

2) and 3) is to be done in Taiwan in early 2009 with Dr Chuang I think. Cheekbone will be going to Taiwan again in late 2009.

Hi boi, im just curious what is the difference between lip reduction and lip lift? my top lips are turned outwards, and I really hope to do lip reduction to make it look like Ikuta Toma's. Which would u recommend to do in my case.

Hi as I emailed, do you have pictures to illustrate the case? Lip Reduction per se will make your upper lip less everted and lower. Lip Lift per se will make your upper lip more everted and higher. So I did both lip red and lip lift cos I didnt want super low lips.

I've been going to gym everyday now and exercising, to build up my body. MAN how tough it is. Anyway, expect an update on my body pic in a few months. Even training for a marathon now. I have the drive now. Perfect face perfect body.

Eyelid surgery and maybe epi will be in April as scheduled. I will redo my alar ( narrower ) in mid of next year. And finally end of year I will be doing cheekbone reduction and maybe jawbone reduction.

Thats my schedule.

boii18 wrote:After much thought, diet + exercise is the best way , rather than liposuction.. After my rhinoplasty, it scares me that there ARE risks and complications in EVERY plastic surgery and you have to be aware of that. Do less and definitely your risks are less.

I am now considering the bare essentials in this revamped makeover programme:

1) weight loss - literally free.
2) Botox ( jaw - do 3rd jab ) - done in tokai costs much cheaper. will do in tokai, plus nose revision
3) rhinoplasty - complete rhino has been performed.
4) chin augmentation surgery - 400 SGD at nara - will be proceeding.
5) jaw reduction surgery - 2.5k SGD at Tokai - will be doing this Early '09
6) zygomatic reduction - 2.5 k at Tokai - will be doing this Early '09
7) lifestyle changes - get fitter - e.g. gym, swimming, water sports 8-)
8) get tanned, do my hair 8-)
9) resolve acne scars further even though I have a very good complexion already. i just need to maintain by doing regular masks. my acne scars have almost all faded except two small scars. seems like perfect complexion now without even blackheads.
10) reduce dark eye circles - eye masks, and rest. not been sleeping recently.

NOW i know why "eXtreme makeover" projects do not have so much surgery. It scares the hell out of me that I am risking almost 8 surgeries in the original plan. With 8 chances of asymmetry and other complications!!

* Original Plan
- Lipo => 3 surgeries
- Jaw Red
- Cheekbone Red
- Chin
- Rhino
- Browbone Red.

Which is CRAZY!

Thus, I have revised a barebone plan with

- nose surgery
- jaw red.
- cheekbone red ( we'll see if we need this after jaw red. )
- chin implant

And I have done the nose! So it means 3 more surgeries to go. Phew!

No more contemplating about epicanthoplasty etc. We will see. Its too early now. And I don't want to risk my eyes!!

Hi boi18...

The info u posted were relli useful. I been readin quite abit on ur post abt dr pat. I had email n sent him my pic, he suggested i do chin aug, double eyelid and jaw botox. Can i ask if u were satisfied with Dr pat's jaw botox so far?

5) jaw reduction surgery - 2.5k SGD at Tokai - will be doing this Early '09

u mentioned abt doin jaw reduction surgery in tokai, will like to chk with u if u hav done it with dr pat and hows the results?

thnks !!

To update on my progress and future surgeries.

I think that I improved by quite abit compared to the original point during Phase 1 of my makeover project.

But now I'm moving on to Phase 2 to correct other imbalances.

I will name the imbalances
* Represents severe deformity

*
(1) Chin is too deficient, and comes hand in hand with a overbite malocclusion case. Method of evaluation was using the vertical line downward from the forehead, together with Rickett's Esthetic Line. There is a resultant deep mentolabial sulcus beyond 3 mm of the lower lip vermillion which combined with short chin and long upper lip is a very bad esthetic outcome.

*
(2) Sleepy and tired eyes, with evidence of dark eye circles. My pupils are also abit smaller than normal. Ptotic eyes and ptotic eyelid. Also have wide intercanthal distance. Exacerbated by the fact that I have eyes that conform to the rule of facial fifths on the outside end of the eye, and do not comply to the rule at the inside end. Whats worse, the problem is exacerbated by asymmetry of eyes.

(3) Lips are too low down on the sides close to the jawline area. The central lip was lifted via lip lift. But the sides are not lifted high up enough. Will consider lifting

*
(4) Periorbital area is hollow and tired, probably a little sunken which can be fixed using filler injections or fat injections. It can even be corrected vi cheekbone repositioning as the malar fat pad is repositioned vertically upwards and anteriorly compared to the zygoma complexes.

(5) Nose can be refined further, as the nose tip is slightly bulbous. The angle of the tip to the line perpendicular to the frankfort vertical ( naso facial angle? ) is abit too high, can be decreased if need be slightly. But it may look older.

*
(6) Lower lip is too everted, due to deficiency in the mandibular bone and due to the effect of the lip lift.

*
(7) Lower lip is abit too everted and large, and both lips can be reduced, even in terms of width, as the width is about 60% of mandibular-to-mandibular distance. The ideal width of lips as compared to mandibular-mandibular distance is around 40-50%, in fact is lower in guys.

(8) Hairstyle can be improved, skin can be improved, and other miscellaneous factors, even facial fat index, body fat index, etc.

(9) The angle of the chin is not nice, due to facial fat deposits at the neck area.

*
(10) The presence of the buccal fat pad which causes the cheekbone to have less definition, and causes the cheekbone to look lower than it really is, even though it starts at correct part.

(11) The cheekbone is asymmetrical in 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional aspects. It can be analysed via cephalogram and made more symmetrical. It can also be re-positioned inwards of the face to allow for better facial aesthetics.

(12) On the side view, the facial width is too wide, and there are some discrepancies but they cannot be corrected; I feel that as long as major discrepancies are corrected, it should be fine enough already.

(13) Forehead is too sloping and there is presence of frown lines which can be neutralised with botox. Fringe can also cover.

(14) Prominent and upward-rotated mandibular bone, which can be reduced and reshaped to give sharper contour to the face.

CONCLUSION : The combination of these factors result in a bad aesthetic outcome. A good part to realise is that the combination of high eyebrows, wide intercanthal distances, long upper lip, and wide zygoma complex, leads the face to take on a very dis-unified look in the 2D aspect. 3D wise, the presence of deep mentolabial sulcus, weak receded chin, long upper lip, relatively prominent cheekbones and nasal complex, leads to the look of "top-heavy-bottom-weak" which is very very bad and disharmonised.

I think I look objectively around 4.5 / 10 now, considered average or alittle below average. This is due to the many points listed above, leading to very bad harmony.

However, it is at least better than the original starting point.

The following corrective surgeries will be done and in around the following sequence; the anticipated rating I think though it depends on surgical outcome; hopefully its improved.

May 2009 - Lip reduction revision - 4.75 to 5.0
June 2009 - Epi, Double Lid, Levator surgery - 5.0 to 5.5
Braces/Orthognathic Surgery/Chin Surgery - 5.2 to 6.0
Correction of hollow periorbital region - 5.5 to 6.5
Hairstyle - 6.0 to 6.8
Nose job - 6.5 to 8.0
Cheekbones Restructuring - 6.8 to 8.5

boii18: I'm planning a trip to taiwan this year too. I am wondering if I want to document this trip on video as I did regret not doing so for my Bkk trips. I have previously had closed aug rhinoplasty w/ silicon and chin aug with silicon done in bkk. I'm gonna redo my nose in taiwan with costal cartilage. I'm also gonna do upper eyelid with epi. I can't send you a PM cos I don't have enough posts but if you can PM me with your msn, maybe we can plan something together. I'm 25 btw.

I would never have the guts to do that. too afraid of how they may end up when im older.. thank you for recording down your journey though, it's very enlightening and i hope your surgeries will turn out the way you wish them to. all the best!! do post up some before and after shots of your transformation when you're done. cant wait to see them! =)
