Interesting, what was your first startup and is it still going, or not? Just curious!

Yes, the 1st one is still going. It is in the mobile content space, but I am not involved in day-day mgmt anymore. Have this nice new idea and am looking to put a team together.

when you talking of audio, sound engineering are you looking for experience and/or theoretic background?

The reason I ask, is simply to drag more information out of you, with regards to your requirements.

I know my own son has been doing the sound for many musicians and groups in Europe, although he, doesn't have the academic experience, he has a great deal of practical.

Not that he could help you out, I was thinking more for the people reading the forum, many people who are good at what they do, always feel, they are not good enough to apply for jobs, because of no academic background in audio engineering, and in many cases, practical experience is all that it takes. Depends on your requirements of course!

Anyway it's always good to see innovation, good luck!

In startups you only care about whether the person can do the job more than paper experiences. Theoretical experience is useful when it is of the Phd sort and you want that kind of research calibre which is also essential for continuous innovation

For this company, I am looking for both sorts actually. But this is not so much in music as in voice and audio processing.

OP, are you still looking for audio engineers? A friend of mine recently had his position made redundant. This was with a large games development company and his job scope included speech localisation. He's American if that is any concern.

If you are, please let me know as soon as possible and I will put you both in touch.

Cheers.
