Malaysian Delivering in Singapore

Post by BaBy G » Sun, 24 Feb 2008 10:19 pm

Hi Everyone...

I really hope someone can advise me on my many questions in mind.
Firstly, my husband and i are both Malaysians and both of us are holding Employment passes. We are planning to have a child however there are many questions in hand...

1. Can i still work in SG when i am pregnant ?
2. Can the child be born in SG ? If yes, whats the procedure of the nationality.

Some of my friends have advised that i can deliver in SG and take the child out immediately.. but it does not make sense as within a day the baby will not have a passport....

I really hope someone can advise me further on this issue...

Please do not spam similar messages across multiple threads. It takes up unneccessary band-width. Most will read all the recent posts in a forum so it will be seen.

I received your PM and you have mail concerning the above.

after you have the baby you register the birth (my husband registered at the hospital) and then you have 42 days to register with your embassy, get a passport and get a pass for the baby. the MOM is quite good about giving you all the info you need. you can also go to the info counter on havelock road and they'll give you everything you need to know in person.
