I have been reading in these forums that u need experience to even be considered for a job, but at least how many years of experience should one have before even thinking about applying for a job?
Cheers

It would depend on the field of study and the skills necessary. But you can just about forget it if you have less that 3 years experience unless you are in a very specialized niche with very few player.

Marketing people are like accountants here in Singapore, they're a dime a dozen.
Of course good one's are hard to find because all the good one are working, but that's what headhunters are for. They normally poach the good ones from other companies. If one is looking for a job then one normally isn't in the rarefied air of the calibre that headhunters would be interested in. As I said, the local uni's crank out more than they need.
You would probably need an excellent and verifiable track record as well as bringing a AAA-rated active network with you before you could even shake their hand.
