Baby Formula

Post by endacotta » Tue, 19 Feb 2008 3:10 am

Hi

We will be re-locating to Singapore later this year with a young baby. Does anyone know what brands of formula you can get in Singapore such as SMA, Aptamil, Cow & Gate etc.

Thanks, Anita

formula milk

Post by disneysea » Mon, 10 Mar 2008 1:05 am

hi.. looks like no one replied to this... let me :) I am a new mom though. Baby is 11 month old but have been spending most of my time in organic shops, supermarkets etc....
You will find milk manufactured by Mead Johnson, Abbott here.
Although there are organic shops who imports milk for UK or New Zealand. If your baby is lactose intolerant, I know dumex and mead johnson (enfalac) also has lactose free brands.

Don't worry, you will have quite a huge selection here.

Aptamil is not available here. I searched high and low to no avail :(

Ended up giving my son Friso Gold. He rejected all the others.

Cow and gate substitute

Post by katharineoco1 » Tue, 04 Aug 2009 10:19 am

Hi Anita and Disney Sea,

I am interested in how you got on with finding a substitute for Cow and Gate - any luck? Also where do you find HIPP here - I've just moved here from Dubai where my little one was on Cow and Gate - so interested in the alternatives. Thanks!

Hipp is very similar to cow and gate and our kid swapped over very easily. The only pain about Hipp here, is that its availability is unpredictable there are a number of places that stock it, German supermarket ( German version), Tanglin mall organic shop and you can also order it online from the UK. I have often found shipments would be delayed and all the stocks dry up.

Try and find a locally available milk that can be used, its a lot easier buying it, not just in Singapore but also if you travel around the region. We are currently on Pediasure which is widely available.

I switched from Cow & Gate to Enfamil. My son had extremely bad reflux so I was extremely reluctant to try something new. After the supply I sent over ran out he transitioned to Enfamil seamlessly.

Hi Mummy Anita, I gave my baby Aptamil. I got it from Fairprice. But you can try it first by getting free samples.
