ISS (International School of Singapore)

Post by bkkmum » Mon, 18 Feb 2008 12:20 pm

I will be relocating to Singapore in April and am looking for a school for my 9 year old son. The only schools that have a place for him are ISS, and the East Coast campuses of CIS, Etonhouse and Chatsworth.

As I plan to live in the city area or Bukit Timah, ISS would be best location wise, but I would like some information from other parents who have children at this school, as to whether they are happy with the teachers, cirriculum, facilities etc. Is the school too old, cramped?

Also, if I were to put him in one of the schools on the East Coast, could someone advise how long it would take for him to get there on the school bus from Bukit Timah.

Any information would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi there Bkk......

We all things in our favour.. be moving to Singapore in October. ISS is one school we have had our eye on.
All I can recommend is that you contact the school, and ask to be able to talk to some of the parents.... Also the school should have an idea of how long the bus trip would be.. If not, ask the to contact the bus agency on your behalf.

Good luck with your move. Also much happiness and a fast settle in time for your son at his new school. Which ever one you send him too in the end.

Starsie.

Hi, Ive heard ISS is very good, My school is right next door to it called OFS, every morning going to school I see the kids playing out side, playing football, with sand and a few other toys, all the kids at ISS, every time I see them they have big smiles on there faces and laughing away with eachother.

I don't know much about ISS, but I sure know the children there are happy!

Best of luck finding a school for your child, and best of luck with the moving and other stuff to singapore. :)

One other thing, you could try and see is my school has space for him, kids here have much fun and find new friends really quickly, ( my school is called Overseas Family School ), it is on patterson road. There website is www.ofs.edu.sg

thanks for the information. I have contacted OFS, but they cannot confirm whether they have a place until the end of March, when they have processed applications for current students. As I need him to start school early April, this makes it difficult
