boii18: so did you do jaw shaving with him as said in your signature? How was the surgery ? He said the surgery would be extra oral, that means there will be 3 cm scar under my chin. He assured me that it wouldn't be noticeable, but I'm worried they won't completely fade over time. However, it is less painful than the intra- oral method, plus cheaper, so I decide I'll go for it.

what do you mean by that he's aggressive in surgery? Do you mean he tends to over- do things, like cutting more bone than needed ?

How to have chiselled face.

Post by rhinose » Mon, 15 Sep 2008 5:11 pm

Hi guys, i have an oval face but it lacks definiton in my cheek area.

What i like to achieve is like if you pull your skin down and your bone contour is more visible.

Something like Taiwan star Jerry Yan of f4.

That gives a more masculine appeal.

For now my knowldge is that you can add silicone, remove or add fat?

but i really dun prefer silicone in my body.

Anyone know the procedure, complications, recovery period? and which doctor to recommend?

I am thinking of Taiwan.

Thank you!

Shiyun777 wrote:Yes I agree with you.

There is a notable differnce in those of south east asian descend facial structures and those of the northern asia descend.

The northern asia mostly have sharper and nicer looking nose occuring naturally than the bulbous and slightly fat & flat nose occuring more for south asians.

In terms of skin tone, the northen asians have very good skin complexion which is fairer as compared to the southern chinese who are usually much darker.

Not to worry for us south asians since there are gracious procedure to save the day like whitening skin injection, rhinoplasty, big eye contact lens which gives us every ounce to resemble the pretty taiwanese, japanese, korean descend. :D

Sometimes, ain't it a puzzle why people are created the way they are? There is much difference between northern asians and south asians in appearances and it seems kinda embarassing that the south asians have to do so much so as to reach the standards of the northern asians who seem to have all good physical attributes given naturally. Northern asians mostly just need to do surgery open up their eyes. But the other did to do so much ..... :?

Also why are the north indians created with dashing fairness and sharpness and why are the south indians more darker and not as outstanding?

Why are some people fat and others slim ? there are always more questions than answer , but if one is truly at peace wih themselves, they'd just accept themselves as they are amid the vast comparision around and the pressure to keep up loooking just as good.
Shiyun, did you get teased in school when you were younger? Were you somehow just stomped on with every ounce of confidence squeezed out of you? Or are you just plain ignorant?

You're saying south asians don't measure up in beauty compared to North-Asians, did the western media brainwash you? because everything you said was discriminative towards yourself and your people.

You're not just saying that north-asians are superior in physical looks but you're the reason why many insecure people are now going to get their faces done because they don't think they're good enough, and we're not talking about 'improving', because clearly you are trying to look whiter as you said the northern people have sharper noses and whiter skin.

I pity you.. that's worst than being a racist.. you don't even like yourself *smh...*

Dr Pat

Post by gucci_gucci » Sat, 20 Sep 2008 7:53 pm

I have done jaw shaving with Dr Pat, not too bad and didn't hurt much. From the second day it does not hurt at all, only the bandage is uncomfortable. I haven't seen my face because of the bandage so can't comment on the result. He said extra oral method would be more efficient, less pain, cheaper, but I'm a bit worried about the scars. Apart from that everything is fine, the staffs are nice and helpful.

Dr Pat said $1500, but I managed to bargain to $1350. From my research it is the cheapest price you can get, at other places the prices are normally $2500- 4500. That might be because he does extra- oral.

No I didn't. My face is much smaller now compared to the first day post op but still very swollen. It should take about 2-3 weeks until I can see the result. Yep the wound is quite long, nearly 4 cm on each side but it is under the chin so nobody can see it from the front. Hopefully it will fade away after 1 month or so.

Is extra oral the traditional method of jaw shaving? How deep is the scar? I want to shave my jaw too but have been finacially tight recently..

I have read some websites and they say the extra-oral incision is better than intra-oral due to

1) ability to re-shape the jaw bone instead of just filing . that means able to change the angle to make it more female and defined.

2) more effective

3) less risky

4) shorter recovery time

this is in total opposition to what Dr Chuang of wishclinic.tw says. Perhaps Dr chuang was referring to a special extra-oral technique developed by korean surgeons. But the normal intral-oral approach by USA or watever doesnt produce as goood a result as the extra-oral
